I had to use a magnifying glass to read the serial number correctly as my first attempt was rejected and it turned out that what I thought was a number was actually a letter of the alphabet

Sorry, don't think I was clear in my post. What I meant was I have already received 3 replacements today having gone through the replacement program. I am now trying to download music from iTunes but when I plug it into the computer, iTunes says it doesn't recognise it and tells me to disconnect / connect again. Doesn't work nor resetting new iPod.

can anyone help me out please found old nano and typed the code in - it then took me to a sign in page. Does this mean it is the same model that can be sent back or does it take you to that page anyway? Just thought i would ask to save mum time trying to figure out log in details haha

it took me to that page, before saying if its the correct model etc so i signed up then it says we will send out a box to put the old one into and expect replacement in so many weeks so i would just sign up it probably means you have the correct one not sure what it does if the model isnt correct

My new one turned up yesterday after I sent mine in at the end of November. Its a brand new one - new model, but it came in a padded box and not all the proper packaging. No charging cable or headphones. I was proper made up with it for about 2 seconds and then I dropped it in the sink! hah. Fortunately it appears to still be working!:j

Phew!!!

Yes, regarding the headphones and charging cable, we were asked to only return the actual iPod and nothing else. So you can use the old cable and headphones with the 6th Gen.

But not, of course, quite a few speakers etc.
