  • For some strange reason we've had two of these, first one a year or so ago and the second just last week.

Neither of which I can use, might try taking them to car booty next time lol

I am really disappointed to see that some people are dumping these in the bin, don't be so wasteful, if you have no use for it offer it to someone else, put it on freecycle or drop it off at a charity shop.

It's the postcard I binned, not the thing! And when I say bin, I meant recycling bin anyway.
  • Received one of these today, addressed to my daughter ,who doesn't live here. So have popped it back in the post with " NOT KNOWN AT THIS ADDRESS" .Cannot see why they would bother unless it is a scam to get either email addresses or money.
  • I received one of these shower saint things today (not a postcard, the actual device) and like others, it's of no use to me as can only be applied to a shower attachment you use with a mixer tap, how many people use those these days and not normal electric/power showers which you can't use this with?

As it's over 7 miles to my nearest charity shop, I shan't be making a special journey there to offload it and will just bin it

  • I posted this on another thread here at MSE:

I didn't know there was this thread, so I hope it is OK to post this again?

I received a Shower Saint on Friday. I didn't request one. It had my address on the packet but someone else's name. I have no use for it and have sent it back.

It does raise other issues though, I think. Apparantly this originates from a Government scheme (according to Consumer Direct) to send out 1.8 million of these as part of a C02 reduction programme. Consumer Direct have had many calls about this product it seems.

That scheme is not bad in itself, but these third party companies (Shower Saint) are being paid to send these things out regardless of whether or not it has been requested.

It seems that they are making money when these things are not being installed. That can't be right, can it?

Received one in.my name at my parents address where I haven't live for sometime and by the fact my title is not "Mr" I suspect someine has been selling my personal info.
I have no recollection or reason to have requested it making its random distribution somewhat at odds against any "green" credentials.

It is of course utterly useless as it would not fit my type of shower not that I would fit it anyway.

IIRC unsolicited goods are automatically mine to dispose of as I desire.
  • Why all the fuss. You are being sent a free water saving device. If you don't want it give it to someone.

Quite agree! I got a postcard today and can't wait to receive my free thingy.....

  • It seems it can be used only on showers with a mixer tap, and keeps a lid on the amount of water flowing.

But isn't that what the tap does?

1 - get the temperature balanced by using the mixer

2 - open the tap until you have the flow rate you want.

    So why this device??
  • I got one of these postcards to my address today.

It was addressed to someone who lived here well over 3 years ago.

So unless she suddenly had a memory blackout and forget where she lives, it's clearly from some marketing list they purchased.

I won't contact them... no way. I'll bin the postcard, and see if they send it what it's like.
