I've just had a postcard addressed with my surname but wrong initial and marital status.
It says
"We've received a request for a Free ShowerSaint, thank you. If for any reason you do not require it please contact us within 5 days of receipt of this postcard on: 0800 644 3400 or email nothanks@showersaint.com. You will need to give us your address so that we can identify and remove your details"
I certainly didn't request this.
Any one had one of these or heard of it?

I had one of these as well! I threw it in the bin.
Nothing has arrived since.0 -

I'm suspicious as I never requested it. Just wondering if this is some sort of scam where they want people to phone up and provide personal information etc.
Mine is going straight in the bin but just thought I'd ask on here in case anyone had any info.0 -
Sounds like an email address harvesting exercise - other sites say that it definitely is as 'MoneySavingExpert confirms it.' http://www.edugeek.net/blogs/cam/1008-ecosplash-showersaint-scam.html
however the MSE thread linked to no longer exists.
Does this mean the 'company' have had a thread removed?0 -
I read the t&c and they do seem to like taking and keeping your personal info. That's the only thing that I'd be wary of as you don't seem to need to give any card details or anything.
But if you didn't sign up for it then in the bin it goes I guess.

we got one of them in the welcome back when we joined EDF energy as it come in their welcome pack we thought it would be a good device, so requested one, but as yet ( 3rs on) still waiting, but no spam or anything from the company and EDF just said they get loads of ads like this each year and just place them in with mail and dont check them out.0 -
It's in the Google cache http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:n6v9qg2tTzsJ:forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php%3Fs%3Da15ba08a7320f783b06838c5e5224660%26p%3D48263671+http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php%3Fp%3D48263671&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=ukhowever the MSE thread linked to no longer exists.0 -
Here goes, my first post!
Received a postcard today. Again I never asked for one of these and the blarb in small print about "why have I received a postcard?" didn't make it any clearer. Tried ringing the Freephone number, but it's not in use.
Really can't see the point in sending these out unless its some kind of scam to get your details if you log in online, which I won't be doing.0 -
If anyone has recently placed an order for free water saving or winter protection kits from Yorkshire or Trent water then that is why they received the postcard.0

Yes it is really strange about the old thread about Showersaint.
Lots of people, including me seemed to receive a postcard around the beginning of November. Lots of posters had done some online research about the company and concluded that it may be a scam.
I decided not to contact the company who sent the postcard in anyway and will not sign for anything that they send to me (if they decide to send a product).
It is really strange that the thread has now disappeared. I'm quite shocked.0
