A huge thanks to all for running the GC again :T

I am still on my November budget, but can you please put me down for a whopping £450 for December, I know it is a big jump in the wrong direction, but mum, sis and I usually trawl all of the supermarkets and shops just before they close for christmas and I want to make sure that my budget covers it, plus all the extra treats/mouths to feed etc.

Thanks to the GC, I am looking forward to Christmas this year, instead of worrying whether I will have enough to feed everyone :T

  • I've spent a bit over the last few days here and there, mostly actually on goodies. We've had a really bad week with ds2 and are stressed to say the least. I went out to Lidl today and bought lots of chocolate and biscuits (but still only came in at just over a fiver including milk, marg and butter, so not too bad. ALso bought some fizzy the other day and more chocolate. So that adds an extra £9.27, £6.07 and £5.21 over the last few years. Not too sure when I'll do shopping this week as I can't get to pick DH up tomorrow so he needs the car and also the same Weds. Thurs is too late, so looks like we're going to have to do an online shop this week. Not happy about that as I always end up spending lots more on top ups when we do that, plus just get from the supermarket that is cheapest overall rather than being the supermarket tart that I am, so will probably cost at least an extra £20 on top of what it should this week. Just had an idea, may do an Iceland shop, get that delivered and pick up odds and ends from the MrT opposite. Right, that's my plan for tomorrow.

OK. Back in again for December £200 please.

I have cheated slightly and did a huge winter basics stock up over the weekend. However that was due to a month of no shopping due to illness and scraping the cupboards bare so although it will be used in December, its in lieu of November.

I have ordered the turkey and put in a Donald Russell order. We are doing Christmas lunch, but only for 4 so it won't be too bad.

Freezer is chock a block. Mad batch cooking session over the weekend. Chilli, Shepherds Pie, Risotto. Enough meat to last through January I think.

Doing homemade minestrone for me tonight, and DH has taken chilli for his on call.

    Good luck for December everyone.

  • Hi

Please can I join too. I've been meaning to sign up for a while but just haven't been organised enough!

Could you put me down for £135 for this month. Hoping this should cover me, my hubby and the dog for all our groceries and house hold shopping. We've managed to save up quite a few necter points this year so planning to cash them in and use them to buy our christmas dinner.

Apparently peanut butter was an essential purchase today according to Mr F, so that's another £2.07 gone ;)

    £94.17/£200
  • Spent £5.88 in Mr A on the way home tonight on the special offer lurpak (£3 for 1kg), Jordans oats (37p with voucher), tomato ketchup and some whoopsied bread. Then tonight I went in to Mr S for dog food and they had salad, avocados, sausages and bread at 80% off so got that and also got some no-drain tuna (on offer at £3) and more oats with voucher! £11.02 spent there.

Thanks to whoever posted about the Lurpak - great bargain!

OH gave me his winning euro lottery ticket today - £2.90 :T but it bought veg for tea tonight with the addition of 20p from me so I am not complaining. DS was here for tea tonight and we had BBQ chicken and rice with roasted veg and very tasty it was too.

DH is full of cold so went to Mr A for some lucozade and to fill his prescription as the inhalers are bigger than at Mr S. Also picked up a huge jar of nescafe for £5, 12 christmas crackers for £3 some sp food bags and somehow a packet of mince pies fell into my trolley;)

Just started to cook tea and realised that I had forgotten to buy any dog food  so had to dash to Mr S or the poor fur would have starved:(

Made enchilladas for tea and there is plenty left for both our lunches tomorrow. I defrosted a gammon joint yesterday and must get it in the slow cooker in the morning so DH can have some for tea and sandwiches for the rest of the week.

Not to self: No spending until the weekend!
