    Fruit Mincemeat Drops
    Spiced Christmas Cookies

I've added them both to the recipes index

welcome to the gc, skintmum2012 :hello:

Really sorry i must be looking in the wrong place but i can't seem to find these recipes in the recipes index and they sound lovely! Where should i be looking?:search::question::doh:
  • I've got myself totally confused and lost count for December :( it probably wasn't the best month to start with all the Christmas meals etc.

I'm going to try to keep spending to a minimum for the rest of the year, and rejoin properly in Jan when I've got my head round what I'm including.

Spent £53 on our work meal and drinks last night- oops!

We spent another £52 in Mr T at the weekend

Honestly went in for a few things. So bad, really shouldn't go food shopping on an empty stomach.

And another few quid on lunches this week, about £8 eek

Well, in my defence, this was my first month doing the challenge. I wasn't looking to get bargains and spend as little as possible, I really wanted a check what I actually spent in a month, and then work out ways to save on it.

And DH isn't really helping that much, complaining that there is 'nothing in the bloody house for eating'. Course there isn't, that's why you just pulled two sirloin steaks out the freezer for dinner!!!!
Can't think of anything smart to put here...

Could have done with out it but figer that if eating differently helps make me better and saves my having to spend £14 a week on perscriptions it's not too bad.

    tink x

    Hi Tink

A bit off topic but if you regularly spend £14 a week on prescriptions it may be better if you buy a prescription payment certificate. It will cost you £29.10 for a 3 month certificate or £104.00 for 12 months.

  • Zepsgal - my dh is exactly the same, he's always complaining that there is nothing to eat. What he is actually saying is that we've run out of crisps and ice cream. I have started baking again and while the kids absolutely love it dh isn't a cake/biscuit man so I might have to start baking more savoury things for him. He won't eat any fruit either which we always have plenty of to snack on, very frustrating!

I am home poorly again today so will be another NSD for me. Looking forward to school coming to an end for a couple of weeks, I love having the time to bake and do crafty things with the kids.

Ok, so I'm a little late to the party but hey....at least I've arrived. Been trying to cut our costs since I've become a SAHM. For OH, 3 yr old and 1yr old and myself I've been trying to get down to £100pw. Now trying to lower that further but will stick with £100pw til January, go to the shops on a thursday usually so thats £500 this month.

So far I'm at £201.24 for 3 weeks so already a saving of almost £100 :j:j:j

Got the xmas stuff in for the most part, got a turkey through the sun perks and added an aldi 4 bird roast last week so that should do the 6 adults and 2 boys when we add in all the potatoes and veg. Just starters and desserts to organise. Do have 1 apple crumble in but my brother is 6'2" and eats like it so will need another couple of desserts.

Well stocked up with nappies, wipes etc and we're trying to wean the wee one onto cows milk so that will help as his formula costs me £19 a week!

So Aldi's (79.09), Lidl's (51.77) and Asda (70.38) have already been hit but I have £70 in cash (as I get cashback and count it in the shopping) left in my purse which hopefully will run into next week for the last minute xmas food. My parents are bringing the alcohol so thats a saving for us. :T

Also doing New Years Day dinner at us as a 2nd xmas for in laws, got a lovely looking pheasant in from Aldi's and will get a ham or something to go with it, will be 4 adults and the boys for that one.

Sorry for the rambling and hi!
