I definitely overspent on my weekly shop today! £47.05 in A!di and £16.48 in Te$cos. On the other hand, a large part of that is due to me buying a whole goose in A!di for £20, which is going to be Christmas dinner. :D My only naughty concession was a bottle of Blue Curacao from Mr T's.

Hopefully the next couple of weeks I will only need to buy little bits and pieces for the week's menu. I'm finding menu planning extremely helpful, I no longer buy veg that I don't end up using. Wish I'd done it sooner!:rotfl:

August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.
  • Well...

£37.68 spent this week which brings me to about tenner under my original £200

So yes, I'm going to be 'over' for the month, but maybe not by that much.

Freezer and cupboards are well stocked so really its just going to be milk and fresh stuff 'as and when'.

Its going to be a close one :-)

hi all bought a few bits today £5.56 in lidl on 10 toilet rolls, 3 loaves of bread and another more expensive loaf to replace one i borrowed from mil (not that she expected it back but i'd rather not take advantage) a bunch of bananas and a tin of whippy cream for hot chocolates over the weekend :)

then i bought hubby fancy yogurts as a treat he loves those amore ones they were 75p and i owed mil 3 of those aswell (hubby eat them promising we'd replace them) so bought 6, had ds with us and i picked up areo mouuses at 4 for £1 but he wanted milk chocolate and i prefer white so we needed up with 2 packs, and some soup that only that shop sells for 80p in total i spent £7.30 there so a grand total of £12.86, my mums getting me nappies (hopefully) so possible another £6 to my total

aww pity about your car tax, see since i live here i know petrols that wee bit cheaper, we live in armagh but i can remeber my mum driving me over the boarder when we were younger and filling up, they would fill the car and big drums in the boot and go once a month, we always fill up if were close to the boarder but it's not worth a special trip

Quintwins we're over in Derry so it only really takes us 20 mins to nip across - OH and I don't do it that often as petrol isn't that much cheaper (but diesel would be so the rest of our family go a lot!). Did just as you said - 70 euro on petrol filled OHs car up and left me 5 euro which got spent on a big pack of teabags and a few southern choccy bars mmm. Thanks for the idea! Will sort car tax our with the £60 freed up and that'll be that :D Following HFWs recipe for roast chicken this evening so we'll see how that turns out..!

my sister lives in derry, she doesn't drive tho so not really relevant just a random fact i thought i'd throw in :p you know i've never noticed southern choccy bars (makes a mental note to buy some next time we're down that way)

i'm so cold it;s unreal i decided to save oil by cutting down on putting it on and only putting it on when it's dark well i lasted til 3 (after having none on yesterday at all) and now i can't get warm at all :( the soup i bought for tea should warm me up :)

OK so I spent a a load at the shops to day but 26.75 of that was on fuel and screen wash, and another 5.75 on Xmas stuff, but I will keep within budget although its not looking good at the moment, like it says in my signature Im OK as long as I dont go into shops! at work over the next few days so should be OK and I have enough food in to last.
