I had an A$da delivery booked for first thing this morning. I gave them extra time as the weather is fowl here ATM but nothing turned up. Spent ages on the phone to them trying to sort it out and eventually found out that they had cancelled the order because the computer had done the automated thing this morning and been it had been rejected. ...
I booked one online order from asd@ and it turned up without any of the special offers so I sent the lot back and not bothered with them since!
I don't mind paying the delivery fee for mrt or mrs - its offset by what the bus fares/taxi fares/petrol would cost + time and having to lug it all home myself. Its worth a lot to me, to have it brought to the door... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

My sentiments exactly Rosieben.
Also if I spot a good special offer I can adjust my menu plan and check my cupboards etc.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -

So tonight's dinner, as I have no delivery, will have to be falafels I think. Though DC1 does not particularly like them, hmm! Maybe have to see what is in the freezer HM meal wise.
Another rant, I seem to be having nothing but rants lately, spoke to DH about what had happened this morning as he was asking about things I should have done and he was talking bout free delivery. He was under the impression that it was free delivery and couldn't understand why they don't do free delivery. He was ranting to me that I shouldn't be wasting money on getting shopping delivered and we should do it ourselves in future. Whe he thinks I am going to do it I have no idea. I would have to get a taxi back from where ever and it would be more than the delivery charge. I do the cooking so I know what I want so he can't do it for me and he wouldn't do it in the evenings as by the time he gets home, puts the kids to bed, have dinner etc. it would be 9pm Ish and he would be knackered. Saturday by the time we get moving it is late, then we would have to drag three kids around, plus the crowds, plus I don't want to cut into family time doing shopping and the arguments that usually ensue. Sundays by the time we have been to church, had lunch and see his dad, the shops are closed. So I don't know what is going to happen.
i always book the cheap del slots at £3-£3.50 tbh i couldn't drive to tesco and back for that and i'd have to lift it in the trolley then lift it out to pay lift it back in and then lift it into the car with a 2 year old in tow who always cried for bananas all the way round because it's the first thing he see's and because we buy them loose i can't even just give him one, saying that i rarely do online orders unless i need a bg stock up or theres a decent code i've prob had 6 orders all year because i like to get my things in different places like lidl/iceland and the farm shopDEC GC £463.67/£450

Quintwins, Sainsburys and Morrisons are out of town stores, we have a little Tesco in town along with an expensive grocers and butchers. Aldi, Lidl and a small Asda in the next town. I don't drive so for me home delivery at £3.50 is the cheapest and usually less hassle option.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

Co-op spent 30p on the sun. Don't usually pick up newspapers (read them on line) but picked it up for the chips coupon. 30p for 1kg of chips is good for a treat - might use them for Yule. At least the paper won't go to waste as we will use it to line the chinchillas catcher under their cage to make it easier to clean.
Today should be a NSD.

I had a £11.29 spend at M & $ this morning. Nipped out first thing as I had seen the RED Met office weather warning and got a few essentials to tide over the weekend just in case. Also picked up the 1/2 price M & $ chocs for my New Year party for £3.99. Got them last year too and they went down a treat.

Another NSD today. Enforced rather than out of choice - no way was I driving in this weather. So that's 7 NSD's so far this month.
Dinner is still a bit up in the air depending on whether we have electricity. Its been on and off all day. But at least the house is in one piece - next door has lost part of the roof.GC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500 -
Afternoon all!
Just realised I'd forgotten to add my little spend in B&M on Tuesday - a whole £4.
I've done a meal plan and shopping list for next week which hopefully will be just under £25.
I'm still aiming for a spend of no less than £75 before the big Xmas shop on around the 22nd/23rd. I have a £50 savings card towards this which I can't decide whether to count into my monthly spends or just write the shop off as a one off - decisions, decisions....
Either way, if I count it I should still be around target for £150 for the month and if I don't I should spend less than £100 for the month.
With January coming up next we should probably all be on diets and spending no more than a fiver for the month:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Hey all!
Just a quick update from me. OH bought a couple of little things yesterday totalling £2.83 and the sig is totally up to date.
I'm sorry to hear about the foul and disgusting weather for GCers in the north. Please do keep safe, stay home and keep warm. Thinking of you all. It's been a filthy day here too (and probably will be night too) but nothing by comparison to what I'm reading for Scotland!
Lordy, cat smith, that must be so frightening. Sensible option of stocking up and staying indoors Fiasco55. To all of my friends in the north, I wish you a warm and peaceful night.
Take care and all the best,

A £1.29 spend here on toilet roll in HB. Hoping for another 7 NSD's now0
