Another £4.99 to add to the budget bought 8 whoopsied pork chops, chips and energy drink. The pork chops are now in the freezer, they will come in as my mum and dad always have their tea at our house after they've been to football on a saturday.
cat_smith I hope you stay safe and that the wind dies down soon0 -
Evening all, need to add £25 today for crisps, yogurts, pop, cereal, veg, fruit and bits and bobs from Mr T's. Managed to get the 67p moons and stars BOGOF, so got 6 boxes. Also added the shopping I did in Mr A's on Monday, when I had guests for tea.
Got plenty in, but may go for the meal deal in M&S over the weekend. Going to keep plodding on using my freezer stuff, still got loads, then will move from one freezer to another to allow one to defrost.
Wind has died down a bit here, hope all are keeping well and safe.0 -
Good evening from the blowy north! I just popped out earlier for an essential bottle of wine, in case we have no electricity and have to entertain ourselves!
My shopping list has items I could recall on one hand as I have so much in the freezer and larder. These days I just cook one dish a week, e.g. goulash or bolognaise sauce, etc. and bag it up for later use. This way we have a good choice of ready made meals which need a minimum of fuss to prepare. January and February are a busy time for me and pretty stressful as well, so it will be great to have a defrosted curry and pilau rice which have been home-cooked previously to just heat up when my working day comes to an end. I also have a lot of previously roasted/slow cooked meats to add to fresh vegetables which OH will prepare. Bung them in the steamer, and there you go!
Much as I like the M&S dine in options I think it is just a treat and not really a moneysaver. We don't normally eat desserts and there is not much in the veg. line that I couldn't easily whip up at home. I'll leave that until the New Year when there is nothing to look forward to. Then it may be a treat.
It is very windy here still, north of the central belt with gusts coming down all the chimneys, through every key hole and crevice. Sorry to hear of the folk with the roof uplifted - I just hope they are fully insured.Solar Suntellite 250 x16 4kW Afore 3600TL dual 2KW E 2KW W no shade, DN15 March 14

Hi everyone
Been really busy the last couple of weeks what with xmas shopping plus I have taken on another voluntary role. Haven't had a chance to read through the thread yet but have updated my spends on my signature with the exception of Aldi today which I will add when I find the receipt!

Tigerfeet - I HATE Asda home shopping - they cancelled my order last Christmas Eve but still ring fenced the money for it so I couldn't buy anything - it was a nightmare and I never used them again.
VERY windy up here today - fence all blown down but so far roof intact! The noise of the wind is really freaking the puppies out too.
NSD today (didn't go out) which is good. Dinner tonight was leftover baked potatoes layered with home boiled ham and cheese and baked - was really nice! I got a piece of Tesco value boiling gammon the other day reduced to 75p and it was lovely!
Just made another loaf in the BM - this time did the rapid bake and looks good. I didn't realise how much you could save using a breadmaker until this week when I got mine - I'm well impressed.
Hope everyone is okay and coping with the winds!Jane

Evening all,
Well, I have to say I'm well impressed with all the NSDs being reported..hope some of it rubs off on me! December seems to just make me want to spend...so many lovely treats everywhere. Yum yum!
Got my Xmas meat from Waitrose (special treat), and also a few reduced items (couldn't resist) which I've crammed somehow into the overfull freezer. Total spendies £36.59 which is added to my siggy and I now have £36.23 left to last to 31/12 :rotfl:. Have given myself lines....
I'm not shopping ever again.
I'm not shopping ever again.
I'm not shopping again.
I'm not shopping again.
I'm not shopping again until next Friday.:o
But I WILL come in under budget - Only veges next weekend, and a bit of creme fraiche/veges needed nearer xmas...sure I can do it.:T
I'm hoping for at least 6 NSDs in a row.
Hope the weather is calming down further up north. Reports of roofs coming off are very frightening! I almost drove into a fallen tree on the way home tonight. Luckily saw it just in time and swerved onto the other side of the road...no one coming the other way, thank goodness (very quiet, dark country road).
Keep warm and safe everyone. Good luck with the coming week, I'll be reading the posts with interest.

Me too, after my delivery tomorrow I'll only need cream and fresh veggies and I'm staying out of the shops so I'm not tempted by all the extra goodies on offer
Scary this weather, thank goodness you spotted it in time... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Just spent a horrific £150 at Sainsbugs, but only £68 of it was GC so now up to £137.
My OH's mum is bringing all the veg for Christmas day so really just need booze and to pay for the balance of our turkey now. Looking ok for coming on in budget for December's GC. Wish the same could be said for my Christmas budget, which just makes me feel a bit sick :eek:Future hopes, dreams & emergencies fund: £4,000
