BOGOF's ....

Agree with all said above... I only buy bogofs when they are something I would have bought anyway or would need in the near future. I use them to stock up on toothpaste, toiletries, etc. Perishables or things you would ONLY buy because they are BOGOF are not worth IMO...0

BOGOFs are usually on branded goods, so it works out good value EITHER if it is the exact product that you normally buy, OR if it works out cheaper than the own-brand/value one you'd have bought otherwise.
I always use branded deodorant (Mitchum), shampoo and conditioner (Tresemme) so I stock up when there is an offer on.
If the price is right, I can be tempted into branded shower gel (usually Palmolive or Imperial Leather), toothpaste (Colgate), loo roll (usually Nouvelle) and washing detergents/fabric conditioners.
I would never buy something just because there was a BOGOF, but there are some food items (OK, mainly junk!) which I will normally pick up if I see them on special offer because I like them but wouldn't buy them at full price. Pringles are my usual downfalland don't even get me started on Iceland doing Cadbury's Dairy Milk 250g+33% extra free at 2 for £2! That DEFINITELY just makes me eat an obscene amount of the stuff

I always look at BOGOF offers but check that against the price of other brands that I buy.
I never buy BOGOF on somthing we don't buy.
Also I tend not to buy BOGOF if it will last longer than a month. Packs of Tea for instance.0 -
Do you like BOGOFS or do you think Buy One, Get One Free is a major cause of food wastage?
I'm happy to take advantage of such offers when it's a non-edible product (shampoo, toothpaste etc) and can be stored, but am less convinced about food products. Should we take unwanted product straight back to the supermarket's Customer Service Desk and ask for a refund? On balance, I'd rather just have the product sold at a cheaper price and in the quantity I want to buy.0 -
I only buy BOGOF's if i'm sure i'm going to be able to make use of it. I'll cook and freeze the extra or change my meal plan to incorporate it. However i do think it may contribute to food wastage as people automatically pick up the 2 when they only really need 1. The alternative is to take the 2 and give 1 to a friend? My mum often does this for me:D Which means extra free food. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

I love BOGOF deals I just freeze the extra product if it's a food item.0

I only get BOGOFS if it is something I use. Because I shop from home I can sit and work out if they really are cheaper.
When I bought bath stuff for my mum I bought Simple products on BOGOF as it made a real saving.
I saw dishwasher tabs and when I worked it out they were STILL dearer than the own brand tab I used.
I find food can be a saving - especially cheese.0 -
I will ignore a BOGOF offer if I feel it isn't for me - though if it something I can freeze, or store then I think they are ok, but I would rather they kept the price down in the first place...Boo!:rotfl:0

I love BOGOFs, but only if they are non-perishable items. I really believe however that BOFOFs on fresh fruit and veg should be banned and replaced with half price produce. Then less would get thrown away IMO.0
