Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thursday 17th November. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning all
Firstly, big hugs to all those in need, so many are having problems at the moment.
I've been up since 3 & it's very chilly, I might try for a snooze on the sofa soon.
DW's loaded ready to set going, same with the WM & the packups are made, ham sarnies for hubby & left over lamb casserole for me.
I'm doing an online shop today for delivery early Saturday morning, that way I can get everything cooked for Sunday when all the family come over.
I had to laugh yesterday, a work colleague was talking about schools becoming academy's she said she hoped ours would as we'd all get a payrise, well that's the funniest thing I've heard for a long time. I'm not sure what planet she is on but just because schools get more money when they become an academy it doesn't mean the money will reach down to the 'pond scum' layer that we are. She was most offended when I laughed, but I really couldn't help it.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning Hester, Farmerswife and all who follow,

Really dark at this time in the morning and now really dark when I am walking home from work, this time of year makes me want to hibernate!

Hopefully work should be a little quieter today as I have a lot of marking to do. All my year 13 pupils gave in their coursework yesterday (28 of them) and that needs sorting and marking. I was delighted that they took me at my word that a deadline is actually a final date and not some sort of a guideline!

Hugs to all that need them especially JackieG and Lou.

Tea tonight is something with pork steaks.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

Morning all, it is really dark and so cold! It seems like from monday it's suddenly freezing after 5pm.
Lots of uni work to do today, will be running round in a flap for most of today i imagine. Coconut-choco porridge (aka pudding for breakfast!) then i'm off. Need to put washing away and "tidy" tonight- I tend to pull things out in a panic in the am then put them away in the evening. I pack bags and make lunches the night before but something always needs hunting down with 20 seconds to get out the door.
I've been looking for a little hobby and I'm thinking about making youtube videos sharing 60 second OS tips and routines. Does anyone make videos??
    happy birthday sistercas!
    ((hugs)) to everyone xx

    Morning

Firstly Huge hugs to all those feeling ill, with poorly relatives (and animals) and those with worries

Sorry not been on much again lately - been confined to bed for a few days with a virus (Labrynthitis -sp?) so not even been able to keep up with reading the dailies never mind posting as couldnt look at anything printed without chucking up with the dizziness (sorry probably TMI!) However I am feeling much better this morning, temp seems to have gone, just this headache and nausea now to get rid of then I will be 100% again. Not been much OS done over the last few days then but wm on with bedding already this morning as it is forecast to be a reasonable day so might be able to get it out on the line to blow for a while.

DD's have been very good calling to see if I was ok and coming on their way to and from work to leave me drinks and food ready (not that I fancied eating much tbh)

I hadn't seen DD1 in over a week and couldnt get over how big she has become - now as she is only supposed to be 8 weeks pregnant - is this normal? I think she must either have her dates wrong or maybe twins!!! She isnt due her first scan until 23 December so is considering going for a private one to see if they can throw some light on this. Im sure I wasn't as big as her as quickly. Its not as though she has been eating loads either as she had terrible sickness for a few weeks (so much they were considering taking her in to put her on a drip as she was so dehydrated) however that seems to be easing off now so hopefully she will be ok. We shall have to see.....

Anyway, hoping to get back on track with OS today (after catching up properly with the threads!), although it will be done at a nice steady rate till I am fully recovered, hoping to get back into work tomorrow (won't be too bad as I only work half a day on a friday)

Have a good day everyone and take good care of yourselves

    x

Oh sorry welcome to the newbies

Edited to add - Happy Birthday Sistercas - hope you have a lovely day xxx

Lunch is no idea! I will see what takes my fancy when i get in, probably toast i think.

Have a lovely day all - Happy birthday Sistercas!
