Natwest customer service

For me, the customer service is the face of a company, and while I am overall quite pleased with the in branch customer service of Barclays who I'm currently with, ive found myself in need of using telephone banking a few times this month and because the "pin sentry" is essential to the online banking process I can't use it on the move if I don't have it with me. That's not the issue, it's the fact that everytime I call telephone banking it's a call centre abroad and they give lengthy terms and without fail try to sell me insurance or home cover etc that I just don't want when I'm trying to make a quick money transfer. I'm wondering what natwests customer service is like. Because my dads with them and likes them, and they have a banking app for the iPhone. I know they are part of RBS, which I've heard is fairly good.

I bank with Natwest, and have found them fine. I haven't needed to contact them that much, as I do all my banking online, but when I have rung them, they've always been helpful and answered my queries. They have been good to me with regards to credit facilities (overdraft, credit card etc) so I have no complaints

I also do all my main banking with Natwest, And I find them very good. I haven't had no problems at all. Uk call centres are always a massive bonus. I do have a Barclays bank account but prefer Natwest for everything I.E Internet banking, Uk call centres, and general service. Give them a go is my advice to you today!

  • I moved to natwest (partly for the iphone app) - There cx service has been good, in branch and uk call centres but the iphone app isnt that good, only lets you view your account or transfer between your natwest accounts, cant pay bills :(

I've used both and despite Natwest seeming really understaffed in-store they are far far better than Barclays imo.
  • My local branches of Natwest were the biggest understaffed shambles ever (Coventry), and Santander or Coventry Building Society were much much better run, but London branches of Natwest have all seemed fine. Shame that I'm mostly in Coventry really :(
  • No...don't do it...save yourself.

If you want good customer service, First Direct is the bank to choose. Natworst are (IMO) a completely incompetent unhelpful organisation.

  • I really would like to go with First Direct, they're a good bank, but I don't earn more than £1,000 a month let alone £1,500. If I can rule Natwest out then for customer service, I want a bank that has easy internet banking (one that I don't have to remember a ridiculous 13 digit customer banking number along with other passwords (HSBC) The only other bank I can think of to hand is Halifax/RBS that have branches in most towns/cities. I don't really want a small bank with limited branches unless they really are very good.
  • NatWest customer service - ho ho ho. Wasn't aware they provided any....

Seriously - have been awful on several occasions in more than 1 branch with me. This thread shows how many of us have had problems with a Natwest savings account.
And I find that looking back at you gives a better view, a better view...
