Yes i will definently keep you posted.

I will be booking my first collection for monday 9th jan, so fingers crossed all runs smoothly. I do hope so as royal mail are losing so many parcels lately its beyond a joke. I spend around £3-400 a month on posting!! and they lose soo many!!
I need a whole day or two to complete all the claim forms and poaperwork for lost parcels, i have never claimed for one as the paperwork takes such a long time and as a sole trader time is money so to speak.:(

ok, well i have booked my first collection for tomorrow.
All went very smoothly, very easy to use booking system.
They email u the labels straight away.
So all my parcels are now ready and waiting collection tomorrow:j
Will have to see how it goes, but so far so good.
Def didnt have to pay the £500 up front.
Thought u do need to have a minimum of 20 parcels, or be charged for 20, i ended up with about 17, but still much cheaper fo me to pay for the 20. VAT is added on, so its a total of £1.20 per parcel.

Couple of niggling downsides, nothing major, but u need to have al parcels ready when using the booking system, it wont save as u go sort of thing and then wen u r done click on send order through, i would find this useful as i could then add parcels to te list as i sell.
i would also find it useful to be able to add to the existing order, as have had more salkes today but have to put through another order, but need to wat til i have 20 parcels or near enough 20. As collections not til tomorrow would have been useful to be able to add to the order.
BUT the real test will be the delivery, it says next day, so fingers crossed.
    I will keep u updated.
Now i need to find something similar for overseas then can kiss goodbye to royal mail and sooo many lost parcels. SDo if anyone knows of any both or europe and worldwide do let e know, so fr i have found nothing anywhere near a reasonable price. My parcels are between 0.115 kg and 7 kg, so not heavy

Is that at retail or business rates? I spend around £700 a month at business rates (probably 30 - 40% cheaper than retail) and RM only lose 1 or 2 items a month, sometimes none at all. Are the items you are sending likely to be targets for scammers (i.e. they say it never arrived but it actually did)?
  • I think it can vary on lost parcels, I seemed to have issues this December with items sent on a Monday, of course I was posting more on these days but so was everyone else and I'm considering not posting on a Monday next year once we get into December.

Tower blocks and flats seem to be more problamatic and with Royal Mail now leaving parcels with neighbours as official policy I can only see INR claims going up, whilst Royal Mail claim they are going down due to false data (i.e not having so many claims from those of us who can't claim from today). Almost everything too big for a letter box is going RD from today.

These guys are tempting but my nan living halfway up a mountain in Wales, I just don't see how self employed drivers in those areas are going to deliver for something like 30pence a parcel. In towns it would most likely be like Yodel with their home delivery drivers but even then if they give them a hundred drops a day and they may struggle to deliver everything.

they lose between 5-10 parcels a month.
many have gone astray that were sent to sweden particularly, hence looking for another one for there. RM want an extra £6 per parcel to sweden for signed for!!! my cost without that is between 3-10 quid!

Its not just a cost issue, my items are hand made so if any go missing i have to remake this causes all sorts of problems and delays, its not just a case of resending.
