Good morning everyone!
Had a lovely day off work yesterday but did spend money, boooo. Was on xmas pressies though so can justify most of it! Today me and OH are gutting our home and finding eBay stuff- we were gonna do it yesterday but never! Going to try for a no spend day but if OH's son's football is on tonight (looking unlikely as raining) then will have the fees for that. Going to check through bank accounts as well and see how much we have left till next Friday- I'm thinking it's only about £15 but we have food and no other plans so should be possible. Hope you all have a fabulous day! Am totally loving this thread!

Morning everyone
I spent last night reading through the entire thread and have just caught up with all the postings since then. I admire all of you so much, it has made me face alot of facts but I also need to have the willpower to mend my ways.
My debt is made up of overdraft and credit cards, which my DH doesn't know about. This is keeping me awake at night as he is now unemployed and I have to keep us above board.
My problem is that I spend money , i think to make me feel good, but also my DS and his OH have their own home and if ever want something i buy it. (On the CC of course!) I feel I'm letting them down ,and feeling ashamed, saying I can't afford it.
But, don't get me wrong, I also spend money myself and its like iam a child in that I must have it NOW!!!!
I have set up DD's to pay off my CC's, one is no interest, but the other one I still use. I have a pay day next week and that is the last one until after Christmas and still have things to buy. Realistically i don't think I will be able to pay much extra off before Christmas, but am aiming to do my best in the New Year.
I need to change my attitude towards spending and feeling bad off just because I don't have money to throw around as I know I am still better off than a lot of people. (Also will feel better when its sorted as I know I can't tell my DH and it worries me)
Anyway, you are the first ones I have admitted this to, even my friends don't know this, so perhaps that is a step in the right direction.
KERFULLE and SUZITIGER many thanks for your advice.
Will keep watching and post again soon x0 -
OMG! I have one day away from the computer and return to about a million posts to catch up on! This may take some time. In my world there has not been much moneysaving going on, I don't get paid until next week so hope I can make a big dent in the debt then!:A If saving money is wrong, I don't want to be right. The thing about family is that they don't need to have tonnes of cash spent on them to feel loved. Even just spending some time with them is enough, or having them over for dinner, or coffee etc.
Christmas is the hardest time for shopaholics, I'm beating my spending by making a lot of my presents. Fortunately I'm a dab hand with a sewing machine, so people are getting bags & purses that I'm making for about £2 each, winner!
I've found changing my attitude towards spending really hard too, but when you start writing down what you spend it brings it all home how much you don't actually need to be throwing down the toilet
We're here to help, so if you feel you're getting swamped and can't sleep come say hi
Just spent a shocking £20.81 at the PO, really want to throw a tenner at a debt but can't decide which one. It's the farmer's market today and as I've been good all week bringing in soup I'm going to treat myself to a lush burger. I know they're £3.50 each, but they're huge, free range and tasty. Plus I'm going round a friends for dinner this evening, so I save on cooking at homeDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

A bit miffed as we usually get out payslip online 2 days before. I WANT TO SEE WHAT I AM GETTING PAID SO I CAN DO A BUDGET!
No i simply cannot wait till tomorrow, so impatient! :rotfl::)
Pay day for me too! Cannot wait! So impatient when I cannot pay things off!
Been a bit of a hectic week! My car went in last friday and it is basically knackered! Took it round all the garages and managed to sell it for £2,500 in the end (and surprisingly, webuyanycar.com was the highest offer!). So, that is also due into my account tomorrow with payday!
I have also arranged to see the bank next thursday to see what I need to do to get the mortgage that is in joint names (with my ex) and get it in my own name! Fingers crossed on that one. I am hanging on to as much cash as possible until then! If not, I don't know what to do! I am tempted to carry on with the bus for work, and buy a very cheap runaround for the weekend (get to the gym and stuff) and use the most of the cash from the car to pay off debts! Will have to wait until after next thursday I think and that is going to be a long wait!
In the meantime, going to be paying off the minimum payments tomorrow. £220 on barclaycard, and £50 each of my BOS and Santander cards. So progress will be made! Roll on tomorrow and roll on next thursday!!0 -

Hellooooooooooooooooooo debt busters
Well ive just transfered another £90 from ebay into the credit card 'cant remember the pin number so cant be tempted' bank account :rotfl: ooooo I cant wait for the 0% to run out on the post office card just so I can take it all out and whack it off the bill :rotfl: dont dare do it now as 1) the 0% doesnt finish till november 2012 and 2) you just never know whats round the corner so I feel more comfortable with that buffer sat there
I thought as everyone was offering up their MSE words of wisdom and someone mentioned about emotion shopping, id share mineWhen im depressed I bake :rotfl: It helps that I love to cook, but seriously if im not very happy I get the scales out and do baking for the family
as its basically free as ive got all the stuff and takes my mind off my problems and makes pickable food for the family that keeps THEM away from the co-op chocolate aisle (or in DH's case the petrol station chocolate )
Biscuits are always a winner as they are just flour, butter and caster sugar which most people have floating around in their cupboards, ive used utterly butterly, I cant believe, real butter . . . pretty much any spread that ive had in the fridge :rotfl:SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £225/£10000
