Welcome utopiah mf0u will be along with your number soon

I have just made my first payment towards my debt =) I paid £2,50 to wescott, but my total debt was just over the £4300 mark, so it means I've actually only paid off £0.78 but still that's something.

    New total: £0.78/£4300 yay

  • Well, with the exception of my career development loan which I've had to estimate (have rounded up to what I think is the most likely round number), I have definitive debt totals, so my actual total should be....

    £16,276.37

Mf0u could you update my total please?

I now have 10 people watching various items on ebay, but no bidders yet. Still, watchers after 24 hours is pretty good! Technically had a NSD as OH bought takeaway for tea which I was only too happy with as I had no desire to cook after 1.5 hours in traffic!!

Am hoping to pay a very, very, small amount off one of my debts tomorrow as I have £5 in my account till payday, no need to buy anything and it's burning a hole in my pocket. Just have to decide which lucky debt gets the money :rotfl:
Deleting everything to make sure MoneySupermarket don't get any of my personal details to sell to following Martin's sell out move :money:
  • Just made a curry from the big shop I did at the weekend... it was meant to be butter chicken but didn't turn out quite like that although it's still nice, just a bit strong tasting and needs thinning out a bit. I'm slightly peeved because I also made a banoffee cheesecake thing from a SW recipe off facebook and it was gross! I used 5 yogurts for it and 2 bananas :(

Paid the last £5.06 from my account to the cc, although I then went to boots to have a look as I had vouchers and ended up spending £36 on top of my vouchers! I got myself leather gloves for work, my secret santa gift (the sanctuary offer of the week) and a gift set for MrS's mum for christmas... but a soap and glory set also sneaked into my basket! Ah well, the total cost was still a bargain :) Just have to step away from boots now!

  • Hello all everyone sounds so focused! It's fab :)
I made diet coke chicken and a vat of rice and peas for tea- was yum scrum but ended it with afte eights and wine- not so good in my job lol

I've been thinking so much about clearin g these debts. all my dd's for the month will be paid up this week and I pay £60 a week into that account to cover them. I am going to work out how much they *actually* are and pay the rest off cc. I am so determined to shave food shopping cost right down and am thinking if I could save £100 a month on that that will be a huge dent in the debt in a year. £300 a month for 6 of us a dog and two rats? If I plan I reckon I can do it- blinking kids live on pasta anyway ha ha

    Hi psychopathbabble,

I read a tip on a thread on this site one time about baking some potatoes at the same time as cooking something else, and then freezing the potatoes to eat at a later date. So I did this, and today after rooting around in the freezer I spied a potato and figured I'd have it for dinner. Well I have to say it was terrible, I wish I could say never again but unfortunately I have 3 more potatoes in the freezer << gulp>> :rotfl:

Oh well, no pain no gain :rotfl:
  • Evening all :)

I'm kick starting my challenge with £2.54 towards my total.. just a small payment today until payday..small steps and all. I'm already feeling giddy when I think about how good it's going to feel having cleared it all much earlier than planned :D I'm hoping this will keep me motivated, along with the mini challenges.

So glad I found this thread, let's do this!! _party_

  • Hello everyone

Good luck to all of us.

Can anyone give me tips or ideas on how to start focusing on the challenge.

I seem at a loss with it being Christmas. I also have to try to control my spending habits and dont seem to be able to do that.

    What a mess

Hi Jimmytwoshoes, my tip for cutting spending would be pretend as though you have no money in the bank and think what you would have to do instead, like walk instead of using public transport and buying food in bulk and cutting back on little treats. There are loads of little hints and tips on here but i find this really helps me when I am feeling resiliant! :)

  • Evening folks! Today was a small step in a long walk for me! Usually I'd spend lunchtime in the bookies betting on dogs, wasting away £20, £30 sometimes £40, but today I didn't go anywhere near one! Also stayed a bit later in work so I was rushing to catch my bus instead of waitin in the bookies for it. All in all I spent 40p on milk and I honestly can't remember the last day I spent that little. I can't wait till payday to get some debt paid off!

Woo woo woo, you know it!
