    Hi All

shhhhhhhhhh *Being very naughty again by being on here during work so will update names and totals etc in my lunch break before I get caught...I'm just too addicted to MSE and this challenge*

But a very BIG WELCOME to our newest team members, let us know how you plan on debt busting!

*scuttles away to hide as my boss has just walked past

£16k of debt clearance isn't going to be easy, but my SOA shows I've got about £1k a month from basic income available for debt clearance. There'll be a few extras during the year, and I'm getting the hang of matched betting for a predicted couple of grand towards my debt.

I've overestimated slightly on my figure - it includes total interest on a couple of the loans, so early repayment will wipe some more off. Other than that, I'll just have to be frugal with groceries and entertainment, and grit my teeth for a year... I like my luxuries, but that's going to have to change!

    GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

    Hellooooooooooooooooooooo

Well ive been to the post office today to post off all that ebay stuff I sold on the weekend and the postage came to £25.75   and I had to bring one hom as I seriously underestimated the postage and have realised that though I wll still be out of pocket its a darn sight cheaper to send it via courier.
Really really REALLY want to go to the bank and pay DH's debenhams card off but the stupid monday market is there so I cant park close enough to get in :(

Upset DH this morning as was telling him about my tesco account that I pay all my ebay money into (that ive lost the number for the card for, so I have to go to the shop to get money out and as I cant drive out of our town its been really good for saving :rotfl:) and that I think theres about £500 in there after this lot of ebay money clears :D He says 'ooo you can buy that actifry you want then!!' ummmm no, thats my credit card debt money :rotfl: im trying to get £1000 in there before the 0% runs out on my CC with £1500 on in November 2012, so I can pay the entire thing off :D He was not impressed :rotfl: I WAS!! :rotfl:

Also looking forward to the 1st as not only is it sealed pot opening day (which im super excited about . . . thats moe debt money :rotfl: though I might go out for dinner) its also LOAN PAYMENT DAY so I can take more money off my debt :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: love busting those debts :D

lulalolly - I don't know if your children are too young but when we were little our rainy days consisted of playing shop where we raided the kitchen cupboards to make a shop then nag dad to come and buy things, or we'd go camping by making a tent out out chairs and a sheet. We also used to have big games day where we would have tournaments to see who could win the most games of ludo or snakes or ladders. I also remember colouring on the back of old wallpaper roll ends.

No debt busting to report yet, my DDs all go out on 1st of the month (linked to payday still of my previous job) so a week or so to go yet before I can really start making a dent.

Keep up the hard work xx

    In debt no more!
  • Morning all! Just been catching up on all the posts, welcome to all the newbies and congrats everyone who has paid off debt :T

Personally, I went to visit parents this weekend (400 mile round trip:eek:) but cancelled a night out to do it (saving £40), and worked at my family farm for the day on Saturday, so all in all it was a cost-neutral weekend:j. Also got given some free veg (leeks, potatoes, carrots, tomatoes, onions) so will be spending some time thinking up recipes using these.

Now focussing on Christmas presents. I have budgeted £15 per family member but plan to spend a lot less than that if possible, starting with my parents as I've found an awesome gift using clubcard points :T.

Just had my call to Lloyds and they're still not telling me when they'll pay me. If they don't pay me before I have to pay my deposit on my new flat I will have a whole £80 to use for groceries, funtimes and petrol the entire month :O

Good Morning everyone, I am loving reading this thread getting some great ideas for my debtbusting.
mf0u1098 I need to update my total please I missed out one of my debts so it needs to go up :( so that I can do this challenge properly so my total debt to clear before Xmas 2012 is £6157.85  Had my 1st ever weekend of NSD all because I have joined this challenge :) Onwards and upwards (or downwards for the debt) lol

Well done on your 1st ever NSD weekend!!! That's a fantastic achievement.:j:j:j I remember when I started the NSD challenge at the beginning of this month I thought it would be really tough but it's actually quite easy and I hate it when I have to lose a NSD for some silly little amount. It has really changed my way of thinking. Still got 6 NSDs to bag this month to get to my target and tonight I'm at Twilight so won't be a NSD either. But, hopefully can get NSD's Tuesday - Friday this week cos I REFUSE TO FAIL!!!!

I'll update your total my dear, don't worry it's better to know this at the beginning than when you think you've nearly finished!!!
