  • Great news Florida Fairy,

After our shock bill yesterday I have decided that I need to have a look at where I can cut back in order not to damage my admitably big plans for January. After going shopping yesterday I realised that the freezer and cupboards are full so I'm thinking of reducing my January food budget from £250 down to £100 and then I can put the remainder towards dh's tax bill. I'm not sure that I can actually shave any more off from anywhere else but at least it's a start, I do have a couple of designer dresses and a prom dress I could put on fleabay and my son has a broken xbox which still seem to sell? I will have to have a chat with dh and see if there's any machinery he no longer uses which we could get rid of. This is going to be such a tough month, dh has said don't stress about it but I just don't want to put anything else on a card. I'm going to speak to the bank about downgrading to a normal account which would save £14 pcm, I pay insurance on dd's laptop but I have a feeling it's not worth it because there's so many exclusions and the last time it cost us over £50 and the machine is only 6 months old so if I cancelled that it would be another £6 saved. The problem is I need extra money this month any ideas anyone?

Rubbish isn't it Sharron? Sometimes there just isn't enough hours in the days for you to earn any extra pennies from a second job for example. Especially if you already have kids and a husband.

I have a work away job that is demanding of me emotionally and physically I don't have the time.

I will just have to get on with ebaying when I have a week off at the end of Jan. Anything you can sell?

I've given up on Swag Bucks and other survey sites. They take to long for little reward! :(
    In debt no more!

What have you lot done to me? I was in Homebase earlier and it was 20% off if you spend £50. We recently had our bathroom done and we need a new toilet roll holder and we're still using our old bath mat. I picked up a toilet roll holder (£25 Laura Ashley one but it was lovely!) and a half price bath mat but would have still been £15 short. I really didn't need anything else and I thought it's still £40 I don't NEED to spend, especially this close after Xmas so put them down and just brought the screws I needed!

I'd definitely like to be on board! Current debt stands at £10110 - looks like a binary code secret message! More determined than ever to kick this debt, save up for a house and build a bright future for me and my son. Bring it on :)
