    Hi peeps,
I need a bit of advice/ thoughts. We have had an insurance pay out of £1200 and I would like to use some or most of it for debt repayment. Do I a. Pay £1200 off of cc debt of £4800 at 12% apr
    b. Pay same amount off of NR loan - £1600 outstanding 6% apr

My gut instinct is to pay it off cc because of the higher apr, but it would make a bigger dent in the loan. Any advice welcome :)

you could do half and half?
  • Hello all!

Have returned from a mountain of chocolate wrappers and Christmas films! Back to normality now :(

Just managed to make another £30 payment thanks to Santander giving me some money back. They'd charged me for an overdraft and card payment but there was money in the account and it never went into an overdraft. I suspect I'd partially helped fund their Christmas party :rotfl: but thanks to the call centre (who amazed me by actually being helpful), the money is back in my account. So to celebrate, I put it against a debt :T

    New total is....

    #030 £103.59 / 38028.13
Deleting everything to make sure MoneySupermarket don't get any of my personal details to sell to following Martin's sell out move :money:
  • Hi,

Can I sign up please. I have total debts on cards of around £3000 with the majority at 0%, but around £800 at 16.9%. I had hoped to be debt free by 2011 and have made serious inroads, but hope this thread is an incentive for next year.
If you've nothing decent to say, perhaps you shouldn't say anything.
