I've got three great big crates of Happyland to go as well, not sure whether to do it in individual bits or as a job lot.

Now im dragging my memory back here, are these the big plastic buildings that are like Fisher Price Little People? if so I would list them individually, TBH I list anything thats collectable individually as you'll have buyers who want all of it and some that are looking for individual pieces and you could get a couple of bidding wars going. This happened with DD's fireman sam vehicles, I had a couple that went for what I paid for it and 1 that went for £2 more

What clothes have you got? if its summer stuff hang on too it for a few months if its winter it might be worth trying it when the next free listing is up which should be pretty soon. If its a mix of kids/adults you can always job lot it as the market stall holders/serial car booters buy all year round for stock and ive have pretty good money from doing this with bundles of clothes that weren't good enough to sel on their own. Shoes seem to go well all year as kids always need the bloomin things :rotfl:

Well after a good talk we have decided to open single accounts with our joint account bank where I will standing order £10 a month.....
it's a bit like babying him but its the only way to keep us afloat :(

There's two people in a relationship and they each bring different skills, yours happens to be the money and I'm sure your husband has other skills......I do the money in our house because that's my strong point too.
    Hello everyone,

I love this dip inbetween Christmas and New Year, gives me chance to sort my spreadsheets and get my savings goals in order for the next year......Savings were mentioned, and its got me thinking.. we literally dont have any for emergencies.

Me too, in fact that's what I'm going to do this evening and tomorrow, we don't have any savings either but with a holiday July 2012 and meeting my target for clearing the debt it'll be 2013 before we can really start.
I hope everyone had a good one- I am suffering from cabin fever a bit, although I did escape to work yesterday (boo) and went out for two hours delivering leaflets hopefully to drum up some January business this morning (big business, the diet industry in Jan!)

What I really want is a bag from Cath Kidston AND its reduced! Its £48 in the sale and I was given £50 Xmas money.........Having a dilemma though although I have been a VERY good girl and almost paid of Vanquis. Also by my weird shopaholicy justification I am thinking If I buy the bag online now, then I will have no more Christmas money, and therefore not need to go in town (which ALWAYS leads to spending...) COunsel me, oh wise ones :)

Which big company do you work with? You're bound to be busy this time of year with all those NY resolutions :T Glad to read you bought the bag, you would have regretted it later if you hadn't.

I've been to the sales today and for the first time ever I have bought loads of presents for next christmas :D I've spent £110.50 but have bought 17 presents  They're all really lovely from B00ts and M&S and they're the type of presents I would have bought anyway, two of the presents are for my MIL so that's one of the costlier people done too :T I've put post it notes on all of them so that next year I'll remember who they're for :rotfl: I also bought some clothes with Christmas money - 2 longer line cardigans, a jumper and a pair of jeans, I've been losing weight due to finding out I am sensitive to carbs so I just needed a couple of items to see me through the rest of Winter and maybe Spring - I've lost almost a stone and a half since July but still have at least half a stone to get to the target the Dr wanted.
  • SharroneJ - I work for one of the main two weight loss classes ;) but I dont count points ;) - that probably answers your question LOL

Am panicking now about her party which is in 3 1/2 weeks . . . we're having a carnival! completely organised by me :o I have hired a hall and have roped in every family member I can to help :rotfl: have spent so far £30 on the hall hire and £21 on prizes which I thought was pretty good considering we have envited all 26 people in her nursery class plus 2 cousins. I now need to make a load of boxes with hooks for hook a box (rather than hook a duck :rotfl:) a display with cups for lob a choc (ok we are throwing value eclairs but they were the cheapest option at 20p a bag) make a load of raffle tickets for the tombola and figure out how to stand the sweets up on the shelf DH made me for the beanbag toss   . . . . oh and make beanbags for the beanbag toss and the bag in the hamper game  and MIL is on a mission to find me a load of punch ball balloons :rotfl:

Wow, you don't make life easy do you? :rotfl: Tell your MIL to try Baker Ross online - they sell all sorts of stuff.

Ah ha, I presume you are a synner then? :rotfl: I must admit I have wondered whether going back to this could help me, I'm struggling to come up with meals which don't have many carbs in and was thinking about the Red days - don't miss bread really but find myself slipping back into old ways...a rushed sandwich type of thing but I do find it hard to cut back on Potatoes and Rice, it's just not an easy food type to cut out (recommended amount is 240g per day and I try to stick to half that). Oh well I mustn't complain at least my symptoms have gone now :D
  • Sharronej you are a clever guesser lol :)
I have Crohns and I can manage it quite well with my Diet of Choice it fits in pretty well with most people as its quite easy to tailor it to suit you
