What about pens, felt tips, colouring book, magic painting book etc then take her to your nearest toy shop and let her choose something that she would like? Just a quick idea off the top of my head! Or is there a Build a Bear/Bear Factory type shop near you that she could choose a teddy & clothes? Good Luck x
Thank you for all the ideas! Shes big on maze books actually, though she got one for christmas :rotfl: we havent had felt tips in the house since the incident of mummy overslept, jake had his head in the tv and Lily found the hallway wall . . . I do like the idea of a magic painting book as she loves to paint but tends to paint the table rather than the paper so will keep a look out ofr one of those.
Im thinking of getting a Mr and Mrs Potato head as shes mad on toy story and this would go with the new all singing all dancing buzz lightyear :rotfl:
She had a build a bear a few weeks ago that she bought herself with her christmas money and I bought the outfit which was part of her birthday presents, glad you reminded me of that as I dont feel so bad about not getting her as much nowJakes mum I would go for craft or baking, I would do a photo recipe i.e. print off photographs of each stage of the recipe for your little one to follow and you could have the ingredients weighed out into little bags so you really can just supervise and help only with the essentials. How about combining this gift with a trip to the cinemas? - usually a £1 on a Saturday morning. I think this close to Christmas it's more about having a special day and quality time rather than trying to find a toy which outdoes Christmas - ifyswim?
Actually she LOVES baking and if I remember correctly wilkinsons sell kiddy sized baking equipment for about a £1 each, ooo thats a great idea!
And shes never been to the cinema though I keep saying I will take her . . . She is having a huge party as well with all her nursery friends so I really need to remember the cost of this when I think about her presents. Bless her I feel bad not getting her a few bits as its not her fault her birthday is right after christmas. Her brothers is slap bang in the middle of the year so theres always bits he needs by then
Anyway keep the ideas coming ladies! On a thread related note, have just paid £50 off my post office card so new total isssssssssssss

Making myself "skint" could be the best move I do. Current account will be down in the low hundreds for the first fee months of the year, won't really pick up until April may time. Hoping to be debt free by end of July but if I have more than 13k debt to go and not a spare penny to my bane first few months of year it will be hard.
Iv never been so motivated to do something. 305.42 coming out my account on third of Jan, will post a new total up then. Keep going folks, love the energy on this thread.Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

I think I am linking this challenge to the PAD Challenge but oh well!- Another £44.09 paid off Credit Card today- a random amount but it leaves a nice round figure in the bank!

Budget this month is *really* tight, probably because I'm paying a little more than usual as one of our cards is so close to being cleared, so I can't bear to leave it with a balance of £40, but our budget runs so tight that £40 is a big chunk to pay extra.
(When I think that up until our LBM I'd happily spend £250 in Next -on my card of course- without batting an eyelid it seems bizarre to say that about £40)
Anyway, starting to pay this months card payments, but as last month will wait for the next statements with interest before I update my totals.Long haul supporter #290POAYDBX2014 #043LBM Dec 2011 Debt £51K Debt Nov 2014 £42K0 -

I'm going to reconcile my bank accounts this afternoon, I have been saving for the last four months to enable me to pay my bank loan off in January plus I have some buy now pay later which needs paying today so I don't pay the extortionate interest on it (from last christmas when we were really struggling). I'm hoping to make the bank loan payment on the 10th and if I manage it the feeling of accomplishment will be huge - it's also integral to this challenge because of the amount of cash it will free up each month. I was thinking earlier how much better it is not having to worry about forgotten 'sales' going through the bank account - being able to trust the balance it's showing. I do however want to go to the Boots sale - I've got a far amount in points and would like to get some presents for next year.....if there's anything left that is!0
