    I've had a pretty good weekend :)

Spent £57.27 on the food shop, which is very good for me, especially considering this is easily more than 1 week of food, and I even bought treats for OH (mince pies) and myself (Coke Zero :o). Even better, it included £16.25 of savings. Rounding the total spend up to £60 (I'm going to round every shop up to the nearest £5), gives a difference of £2.73.

Did I also mention my £14 train ticket refund? :T

    So....
    "Saving the savings": £16.25
    "Saving the difference": £2.73
    Train ticket refund: £14
    Loan (regular payment): £284.46
eBay sales (after all fees & postage): £62.48

Total debt busting since Friday: £379.92 :j:j

I wont update my total yet as think that I only have interest to deduct before the end of the month and don't want to see it go down ;) Also wont be able to use the eBay money until Paypal release funds.

    Negatives:
*I need to be a bit more careful with eBay postage in future - I made a loss on P&P, even though I scrounged the packaging for free
*Spendy spendy: £5 contribution to a get well gift for a colleague; Christmas card stamps £9.74 :eek:; £3 on a Christmas book for OH (impulse buy :o); and £3.29 for some velcro for OH's advent calander. :(

Overall a good few days though.

Hope everyone else is doing well

    Helen x

This is fabulous HelenPie! Just updating the totals and noticed that you have £1016.99/£16487.87 i your signature but I have you down for £1017.29/£16,522.79 on the 2nd post, could you please let me know which is correct? Cheers, Jemma xxx

  • Oh dear! It seems Paypal has seen my flurry of cash come in from my eBay clearout and frozen my account! Must look like money laundering or something... :rotfl:

But on the plus side, the £691 that's sitting on the account is balanced directly over my credit card - when it finally drops, there'll be hell to pay, MBNA!!!

I failed this weeks challenge miserably :( so as I have to go to the bank tomorrow to payDH's credit card I will pay £10 extra for my failure :o

Looking forward to this weeks challenge as I am already a serial 'putter backer' I leave a trail of items on my travels (yes that is me that puts biscuits in the toilet roll aisle :o) so hopefully will do much better this week :j :j

Ahh, so YOU'RE the mystery "bleach in the freezer" shopper... :rotfl:

I love the ideas of recording and celebrating each regular loan and credit card payments than just the over payments I can only imagine I would get pretty fed up with the odd £10 here and there!!!

Yeah, I know - it makes the routine feel special and keeps the morale up. :money:
