Hi
I'm Pea
I'm a 29yr old single girl, living with my Mother, could do with losing some weight and I am in debt.
So how much debt.... £17,622.80 (or there abouts):eek:
Broken down into:
Loan 1 - £3,980 (has another 18 months)
Loan 2 - £2820.79 (has another 2 years)
C/C - £10,822.01 (this makes me feel sick
)
Scary stuff
however, I have found my way back to MSE :T and I am determind to get it gone this time.
I have an thread on the other board, but know I need a diary to keep me on the straight and narrow.
I've worked really hard to get the loan's to where they are now, but with the cost of living going up all the time the credit card has slow gone up and up and now I am only just getting through each month.
But I've come back to this site (couldn't remember my old log in details)
So please bare with the rambles that this thread will be full of... sometimes I need somewhere to waffle
.
My user name comes from a character in my favourite books... she is a determind lady who never lets anything get in her way. I am going to try and be like her in my debt free journey.
I hope you can keep me company and come along for the ride.

Welcome back peabody, hope you can start making in roads in to the debts again. xIt’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Hi, we will get there one day at a time xxx0

Ok aims for tomorrow:
Another NSD (I need lots of these!)
Going to work on my Coke addiction and not buy a bottle from the daily food van
Have a look at some of the vouchers etc on this site.
Think about wrapping the Christmas presents I've already got.
Beat the Debt - yes one day at a time, I'm going to try and stop putting unrealistic time scales in front of me. I'd love to be debt free by the time I'm 30... but as this is in June it's not going to happen. Unless I win the lottery or something
I'm also going to try and use the NSD's to cut back on the amount of food I eat, so hopefully will lose some weight on this journey too :rotfl:well here's hoping!Total at 9th Feb 12 - £17,500  Now - £6,851.05Loan - £6022.05, [STRIKE]Card 1 - £3293.85,[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Card 2 - £2287.04[/STRIKE], Sofa - £825.00Wedding Pot - £0.000 -
Hi peabody :hello: I am also restarting my DFW journey- with my debt having creeped up from just under £4k to nearly £12k in 2 years!! I'm not even sure how I've managed that!
I think I shall have to join you in trying to beat your coke addiction (although mine is a diet coke addiction!) I am currently buying at least 2 bottles per working day which is at least £9 per week, doesn't sound so bad unless you look at it for the the full month- at least £36 a month on diet coke
Is it just one CC you have or more than one? If you have more than one pick the one with the highest APR and throw as much spare money at it as you can- I'm attacking my Virgin CC at the moment

Hi
It's just the 1 credit card thankfully, I know some people are really good at moving them around for 0% balance transfer etc, but I don't think I'd get another one and I wouldn't pay it all off in time.
£36 on coke.... not goodproblem is it's so tasty

Yep, and that's at least £36! My mission is to not buy any more at work for the rest of this month!
I guess with your CC the limit is so high that if you applied for another 0% card you probably wouldn't get one with a high enough limit to move it all over anyway..
Are your payments all up to date and not had any late payments etc Would it be worth ringing them and seeing if there is anything they can offer in the way of a lower APR? Play the I'm a good customer and haven't balance transfered etc card? I did that once with HSBC and got them to reduce the APR from 19.9% to 15.9% (not really low but every % counts)

Thanks
I might just give them a call, although I worry that this will bring things to their attentions, I think I have a couple of late payments where I've been caught out by bank holidays (rolls eyes). But everything is with my main bank and I have been told by one of there managers that although I have debt, my account is run very well.... how I have no idea!!
to be honest I would rather leave the card where it is for the moment rather th BT anyway, I kind of want to be able to cut that one up when I get to the end of this journey as it's been such a big part of it!!
Looking forward to a good day today!!Total at 9th Feb 12 - £17,500  Now - £6,851.05Loan - £6022.05, [STRIKE]Card 1 - £3293.85,[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Card 2 - £2287.04[/STRIKE], Sofa - £825.00Wedding Pot - £0.000 -
Hi Peabody, welcome to your new diary.
I have to say, coke is something that is actually a terribly addictive substance, once you manage not to drink it, you will probably find lots of improvements such as clearer skin, sleeping better, and if it is full fat coke, weight loss.Just keep swimming!0 -
