Not going to re-introduce myself as had many a failed diary but have decided that rather than have a diary titled 'debt free by...' or something along those lines that I am going to have a diary, just being me....doing my thing....no pressures....just getting the job done in however long it takes me to do so. No pressure, no targets, no dates...so on and so on....just little old me plodding along, getting it done in whatever way suits me or in whatever way life allows with what may crop up.

I know this may sounds weird to some but i'm forever putting unrealistic targets in front of me, none that I will ever be able to achieve and it's so demoralising so this is me just being and taking positive steps along the way to becoming debt free :)

So little figures for the start of my diary -

Debt at LBM Nov 2007 = £63,864.18 :(
Debt as it stands now = £29,979.60 :D

For some reason in my head me getting to under 30k is a huge milestone, can't work out whether it's because it's now less than what I earn or whether it seems really over half way now or just that it seems more reasonable in the sense of what friends/relatives have debt wise lately i.e. car finance, bank loan the odd credit card....really don't know why but for me breaking the 30k mark, for whatever crazy reason, is a big deal for me personally.

So, what DFW thing will I be doing today...hmm....hoping today will be a no spend day, will report back on that. Also attending two gym classes, for me this is a MSE way (and also a way of being kinder to myself) in that I am not wasting my gym membership anymore - in fact I go minimum of five times a week and I can't tell you how good that is for me. Gym membership is my only treat really as rarely drink, don't smoke - I live away from family and friends so it's my social kind of things I guess. Everyone is good half hour drive to visit so this is my luxury so to speak....that and it's helping me tone up for our pending wedding in 2012 :D

Right enough ramblings for me....off back to work. Will be back later to list my individual debts and totals.

Hi Choc-addict! Well done on getting under your £30k milestone. You've just inspired me to set my own target (I like targets, as long as I achieve them :o ) Anyhoo, good luck with continued debt busting! I am also re-beginning my journey after adding to my debt, instead of getting rid of it! Stupid me! How did you NSD go today? :)

  • Evening,

Thanks guys, coming on here just reminds you of the support and nice people around.

Laura - managed the NSD which is fab. Today wasn't a no spend day as I had to go into London office so had train fairs etc, however I very much intend to make up for that tomorrow by having another NSD.

Keeping it short as shattered, up at 5am and only just back in the door....time for a cuppa and bath.....catch up tomorrow lovely people.

What a lovely morning, the sun is shining and it's nice and crisp out there - beautiful :)

So, what DFW ways will I adopt today....hmmm....first me thinks it's got to be another NSD. Secondly I will log on and check banking and perhaps make a small overpayment to a debt and also a chunk of money is to be sent to wedding savings. Bit of batch cooking also for the freezer this evening.

What else...??? I think I will have a good read of diaries and challanges on here, perhaps sign up to a few and get some more tips. I used to do a lot of surveys, not sure what I am signed up to etc but i think perhaps I need to get back into that.

Best get on and do some work, very distracting this MSE business ;)

    :hello: Hi again
How has your NSD faired today? I have not had any NSDs this week :( And I'm going away to Bruges on SUnday so the lure of beer and chocolate will probably lead me astray! Oh well, at least I budgeted my spending money :)

Bad and good day so far....

The good, I paid the normal monthly payment towards debt but added a further £4.03 to it (rounding it up to £70) so small overpayment towards the debts :)

Bad news, OH's car clutch has gone, we are trying so hard to see them through until after the wedding (both cars need replacing) but it seems this past month we're just throwing money at them which is becoming a waste as we know they are both needing replacing....so frustrating but neither of us can be without car due to location we live and OH works shifts and has commute so can't even go down to one or i'd be stranded most days....hey ho, not going to let it beat me, there will be a way and we'll do what we have to do.

Weekend is nearly upon us, have a day sat testing out various fudge recipes - we're making them for our favours. Me and bridesmaid will be doing this Sat and then Sun i'm off to watch my adorable nephew play football, he has a cup match, it'll be my first time watching and i'll be so nervous for him! Then off to my sisters after to visit her and rest of tribe....six kids in total :eek::eek: I find it too much just visiting sometimes :rotfl:

Hopefully an MSE weekend. Def a NSD today :T - all I have planned for this evening is a body combat class followed by an abs class at the gym, then it'll be home for bit of chillaxing before bed. OH working so won't be home until nearly midnight....just me and the cat this evening :)
