LookingAhead wrote:Oh and how many children out there would know what "the Corona man van" is on a Sunday afternoon??
(Actually I wonder if this was a regional thing? In case anyone over 35 doesn't know either....it was the fizzy drinks company who are no longer with us. They had a Sunday afternoon round on our estate and Mum would treat us to 2 x 1 litre bottles of pop that had to last us all the week....myself and two siblings plus Mum!)
It was the "Sykes Pop Wagon" where I'm from.
That's another thing - paying a deposit on the glass bottle, and taking it back when you'd finished with it. Sure beats modern-day recycling into a cocked hat."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

I reckon if there was a reward for glass, plastic bottles & cans these days, our streets would be rid of litter overnight!
If I was Prime Minister I'd make that law up!
