What makes you feel old?

Options
I hit a birthday last week. It fills me with a great deal of awe to realise that since I was born I've been around the sun 33 times, travelling a total of JUST OVER 19 AND A QUARTER BILLION MILES(!!!) at a speed of around 66,000 miles per hour

However none of this takes away the depression of just spotting my first grey nose-hair.

  • Making 'oof' noises when I get out of a chair. Brushing my hair in the morning and seeing those individual strands commit collective suicide and leap away from my scalp.

Nothing. I has a mild case of childhood arthritis, which has thankfully gone away. So I'm actually fitter in that department - 20 years on. I had grey hairs (less than a handful) at 14, and less than two handfuls (about 8 hairs in total) now.

In my mind - I will be forever a teenager. :p  ;):D

    Me?

My 12yr old daughter telling me I need to get out of the 80's and listen to some modern music :D

Oh, and being out of breath when I run up the stairs at work :o

Oh, and my knee hurting when I get down onto the floor at work:o
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

That's the problem I often have.

I do something (like go out and play on my rollerboots) and then wonder why people are looking at me :D

Or I try and flirt with a 19/20 something customer at work and wonder why he doesn't fancy me :rotfl:

Pah, this is supposed to be a maudlin thread. Get out of here and take your feel good comments with you :D

With regard to the grey hair thing - my barber once told me that grey hair never falls out so the more you get, the less chance you have of being bald. See? There is always a positive side to everything. (I'd rather not have any nostril hair at all though. When does ear hair start?)

Was it just me, or did everyone think the olden days really were in black and white?
