Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
There aren't too many on here who will remember not having a television and listening to Childrens Favourites on a Saturday morning with Uncle Mac. I got a record played once, The Merry Wanderer...
    Valderi, Valdera, Valderi,
Valdera ha ha ha ha ha!
Valderi, Valdera, my knapsack on my back :rotfl:

and later when I was in my teens - bouffant hair, backcombing and laquer, Buddy Holly, sugar starched petticoats, The King, pancake make-up, black eyes and white/pink lips, Billy Fury, stockings at 3/11d a pair, Del Shanon, Saturday night hop in the village hall, 6/- entrance fee which included orange squash (most of us went to the pub opposite in the interval, we got served orange squash there too but we felt soooo much more grown up!), Bill Haley and The Comets, gypsy blouses, The McCoys (the Real Ones!), yellow and black checked pattern melamine 'crockery', Tommy Steele, cookery classes which you can now get an ology in, Frankie Avalon, walking home alone from friends houses at 8pm with no fear, The Fontane Sisters, beetle crushers and winkle pickers, Patti Page.......

Heading for the Big Six O  this year and planning to grow old disgracefully ;) - one day, was it something to do with the era I grew up in, I wonder?!

Oh, realising that my best friend's little baby is now 17 years old and 6 ft 2...

That really makes me feel old.
  • My daughter makes me feel ancient... she was confused by a camera with no LCD screen on it yesterday - "where's the picture"???
She is only 3 though... but can already use a mouse and work the TV remotes better than my mother!

But the thing that REALLY made me feel old last week, was watching Skins on E4 - was I the only one that watched it because I recognised the actors playing the parents?!!

Tell me again why I'm reading this thread!
Proud to be dealing with my debts:dance:
