Has anyone ever bought from www.for-christmas.co.uk?

  • i bought 3 DVDs from Winkbox that stated 2-3 weeks delivery and in fairness turned up in 2 weeks. This is as good as it got. Received them all the way from Thailand... They are clearly fakes and state Region 1, not region 2 so may not even work anyway! No response from emails so will follow everyone else and raise a claim on paypal but will not expect too much back as this guy is clearly a scammer.
PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM WINKBOX.CO.UK.

DO NOT BUY FROM www. for-christmas. co. uk . co. uk OR www. winkbox. co. uk . Unfortunately, I have been conned by this website. I have been through alot of what some of you have. I ordered a few dvd's through the for-christmas website on the 10.11.11 only to be told by e mail that it may take up to 2 weeks. I still haven't received any dvd's and it's now the 9th of December. I've tried to e mail on numerous occasions. Winkbox is exactly the same as for-christmas aesthetically, even to the border with Minnie & Mickey. If you pay PIYATHIDA MANIWAN it is definitely the same person behind it. I think it's outrageous, that someone would take easy pickings on the general public when times are hard, and above all, at Christmas time. The dvd's are childrens dvd's, have they no heart ? I have reported this also to paypal. I noticed on paypal, there was another e mail address coventry 1980. yahoo. com, don't put the spaces in though. Don't know if this helps. Feel reluctant to try this e mail after reporting the seller to paypal. Hoping this helps prevent someone making the mistake I made by buying from them.

I have Purchased from For-Christmas... £50.95!! I opened up a case against them on Paypal so fingers crossed they can get my money back

They have till the 17th to reply to Paypal apparently. It was that name PIYATHIDA MANIWAN... That site is still up and running now. I also had to change my passwords as I used the same one for Paypal as i did for that site (silly i know but i just typed it in not thinking).

PLEASE BEWARE ANYONE LOOKING ON THIS SITE:- FOR-CHRISTMAS or ForChristmas.co.uk ITS A SCAM!!!
  • £12.99 for the simpsons movie? Its £3 in asda, not a good price to scam at!
Hope you get your money back... the site remnds me of those shops that open up for a few weeks before Xmas and then disappear.
    1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
    10 & 20p: misc savings £2.70
    50p: Christmas presents £3.50
    £2: holidays £2.00
  • I have just bought 4dvds off winkbox and now i'm obviously not going to receive them. The order i made is not even registered on my winkbox 'previous orders' anymore!!!

I have just noticed wedelights. co. uk is also run by the same scammers selling cheap disney dvds,so avoid them as well!! The registrant for the site is Hayden Panetierre and from the same address in Thailand and run through godaddy. com

Also, just wondering if anyone has actually been fully refunded by paypal yet for their purchases ?

    Thanks for the help
  • Hi
I too recently bought a DVD from winkbox for my daughter
It said immediate dispatch but after I paid the email said delivery in 1-2 weeks. I have emailed as it's been 2 weeks and received no reply
After reading this forum I have opened a dispute with paypal. I'm surprised that paypal have not reported this seller or stop them from using paypal for payments. Surely paypal have now received a few of these complaints for them to immediately stop winkbox using paypal to con customers. Have paypal not checked their credibilty?
I am also writing to watchdog uk. Perhaps you all can email them to..
Hoping for a refund from paypal as it should protect us buyers from online con artists.
  • I was also had by this shop (wink box.co.uk) it is kinda my fault i guess because i didnt vet the website, my sister just sent me a link to it to buy this DVD for my neice for christmas and i stupidly just clicked through and paid.

the DVD has arrived and actually turned up fast - within 4 days considering my shock that it came from thailand. but it looks not as high quality as you'd expect so i was left guessing if it was fake or not, and the DVD is NTSC which will not play on my sisters DVD player. It also says on the back "only authorised for sale in USA"

    I contacted seller no response. then went into a paypal dispute - i have just recieved my judgement from paypal which is in my favour and they agree to pay back the £12.94 i paid BUT here's the catch;

Before we can issue you a refund, we need you to return the item to the
    seller. Just follow these steps:

    1. Return the item (in the same condition as it was received) to the seller
    at the following address:
    21 Moo 3, Tumbon Tarsalar
    Phurua
    Loei, 42160
    Thailand

    2. Please use a postal service that provides online tracking and submit the
tracking information to us once it’s posted.

    Note:
    - We need your postage information within 10 days from the date of this
email. If you can’t provide it within this timeframe, you will not receive
    a refund.
    - If your payment was £150 or more, we require online proof of delivery
from the postal company in the form of a signature from the recipient.
    - You’re responsible for the postage costs to return the item to the seller.
Now according to royal mails website its going to cost me £7.02 to send it back recorded!! which will leave me with the grand total of £5.92 worth of refund!

I think this is disgusting! paypal are allowing this person to continue committing a scam and then people are being ripped off still for being victims. as i said in my claim i have no problems sending it back - but i want that postage refunded too.

PS. i'd also like to mention "the hut" as another DVD retailer scam website from last christmas
  • SHouldnt you be reporting them to trading standards aswell, and FACT? x
    1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
    10 & 20p: misc savings £2.70
    50p: Christmas presents £3.50

  • I also got sucked in by forChristmas.co.uk - I've also made a dispute claim on Paypal. Maybe if a lot of people who got scammed start a dispute it will help the case to recover our money but I'm not holding my breath.

I've learned my lesson the hard way and here I was thinking I was a pretty savvy online shopper...

I can't believe paypal are still letting this **** work through them, surely with all the claims that have gone in they should have sorted it by now. They responded to my claim saying they're giving the seller until the 25th to respond to the claim. NO,how about they just realise the site is a total scam, shut them down and give us all our money back straight away!!

I just hope the dvds do not come now so i do not have to spend anymore money and hopefully the low life scumbag gets what is coming to him!!why can't he get a real job rather than scamming people out of their hard earned money. Makes me sick!!!
    .
  • aaargh i knew ordering from this website was a bit of a gamble.

I have also raised a dispute and a claim with paypal, hoping it gets sorted out. I feel so sorry to the people with larger orders, thankfully mine was just a tenner.
