What did the blue screens say?

disable these from startup using msconfig

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Windows Defender] %ProgramFiles%\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe -hide
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Persistence] C:\Windows\system32\igfxpers.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MarketingTools] C:\Program Files\Sony\Marketing Tools\MarketingTools.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Microsoft Default Manager] "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Search Enhancement Pack\Default Manager\DefMgr.exe" -resume

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IgfxTray] C:\Windows\system32\igfxtray.exe
    O4 - HKUS\S-1-5-19\..\Run: [WindowsWelcomeCenter] rundll32.exe oobefldr.dll,ShowWelcomeCenter (User 'LOCAL SERVICE')

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RIMBBLaunchAgent.exe] C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\USB Drivers\RIMBBLaunchAgent.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Adobe ARM] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\ARM\1.0\AdobeARM.exe"

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Java\Java Update\jusched.exe"

uninstall windows live/search enhancement bloat unless you use it

    disable these services using services.msc

    O23 - Service: Remote Packet Capture Protocol v.0 (experimental) (rpcapd) - CACE Technologies, Inc. - C:\Program Files\WinPcap\rpcapd.exe

    O23 - Service: Google Update Service (gupdate) (gupdate) - Google Inc. - C:\Program Files\Google\Update\GoogleUpdate.exe
    O23 - Service: Google Update Service (gupdatem) (gupdatem) - Google Inc. - C:\Program Files\Google\Update\GoogleUpdate.exe
    O23 - Service: Adobe Acrobat Update Service (AdobeARMservice) - Adobe Systems Incorporated - C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\ARM\1.0\armsvc.exe

If you have a java icon in control panel, click it, advanced, misc - untick java quick starter, and untick place icon in system tray. Disable error reporting - control panel, system, advanced, error reporting, select disable error reporting and leave notify me when a critical error occurs ticked.
find the google update task in scheduled tasks and delete it.

when installing progs never accept the toolbars & other progs offered, they are installed by default so make sure they are unticked.
Oh I have learned never to do that one

Above 70 is pushing it a little, above 80 for extended periods will probably degrade the lifespan, and above 90 you're probably going to start getting forced shut downs. Ideally you want no higher than 75 under constant 100% load.
mine seemed to be running at 50ish, so I guess thats ok?

I've had bsod a few days after buying my dell inspiron running vista. But it comes and goes. A couple of weeks ago it was closing down 4 times a day.

Now everythings fine. Why? No idea.

And I've done nothing to change software/apps, nothing at all. Its done this before.
