Oh wow I love that. Sorry I forgot to pm you with my email address didn't I. I'm not skilled enough to do tricky corners like that yet
Skill? What's that? I tried to satin stitch an anchor onto a panel yesterday but it went horribly wrong... funnily enough I didn't take a photo of that oneBecame Mrs Scotland 16.01.16Became homeowners 26.02.16

I watched a video on french seams the other day, I can't do them but I know how to at least
I'm trying to avoid all opportunities to topstitch as I go wonky hahaDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

It's like this picture here but done on the machine... I was using it to edge my anchor onto the panel so it was trimmed all the way round if that makes sense? Kind of applique I guess.Became Mrs Scotland 16.01.16

It's probably an old fashioned way of working out selling prices but the WI used to say 3 x cost of materials as a selling price, so I think some of your prices might be a bit low and some a bit high but they sound quite reasonable to me and I'd be quite happy to buy at those prices for hand made items.

Thank Denise
I think I'll have to revisit my figures then as that means the wristlets are too expensive and the clutch too cheap. I'll discuss with my sister tomorrow too, she shops all the time so knows what she'd pay for things.
Today I've bought petrol and a packet of crisps, cost me less than £60 just! However, my housemate has cancelled the Canadian wedding so I no longer need to save up for that, most excellent as I can focus my attention on debt-busting and saving for a deposit on a rental in Bristol.
My foam roller has arrived and I'm starting to feel a difference after just two stints on it. The first stint I had no idea what I was doing, the second I read the manual properly and spent about 10mins total rolling my back over it. In time it'll be less painful apparently, and pain means that it's working the muscle so I shall grit my teeth and bare it for now.
OH announced that one of his friends has invited us to a wedding in Thailand next March, lovely, seeing as I'm the one with the wages that's flights and hotels I need to account for and will probably mean that's our one holiday for next year. Why can't it be somewhere I want to go? Thailand shall result in heat rash, prickly heat, and not to mention the potential for being offed by the locals, or is that just backpackers?
Well I'm really tired and a little bit grumpy so best to bed. I shall try to be more gleeful tomorrowDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

I think my parents place is a bit like a worm hole, as soon as I get here I stop doing all the things I'm meant to and just seem to be on holiday. I've done no sewing at all since I got here, oops! I've got so much to do as well, maybe I'll try to cut the linings tomorrow. Otherwise, I'll just have to sew my backside off next week.
OH has had a spanner thrown into the works, his landlady/landlord have just told him they're expecting their first child in November. They have emailed to say they don't mind if he continues to live there...but do you really want a newborn baby screaming at all hours of the day/night when you're in your final year of university trying to complete a dissertation. He's worked so hard to get to this point, he really doesn't need something throwing him.
I've told him of a few possible solutions though and asked him to email his lecturer and find out what his timetable is likely to be. If he's only in uni for a few days a week then he could move in with me in Bristol (I need to be close to the main train station due to travelling to London anyway). Or I could always move to Cardiff for a year, commute the 45min train to the WI in Bristol to start to build up friends there, then move to Bristol afterwards. Either way I want to be moving to Bristol in the not so distant future as it seems like the type of place I'll thrive and I really want a fresh start for myself. I actually quite like the idea of making friends there first then movingOH is going to wait until he can talk to the landlord/landlady on Skype first and see whether they're just being nice in saying he can stay, or whether they're being genuine. His mother has said that it might not be as bad as he thinks living with a newborn......it has been 36 years since her son was a newborn though, and I think you forget about all the sleepless nights and constant crying. I know all I hear from my sister when I'm on the phone is how the whole house didn't get any sleep and how my nephew cries constantly. OH still has reservations about living with a girlfriend in his final year though, as he can't afford to pay as much as me for bills/rent until he's working and also he's worried that he'll be a living nightmare to live with....he's met my sister, if I can live with her....I can live with anyone. He's also worried that Cardiff won't be right for me, which it won't really, but if it's only for a year and I can still commute to Bristol for my fortnightly meetings then that's not too bad.
Debt-free news, my Dad has given me £50 which means that I can declare another £50 off my total. It's really starting to decrease now. Yippee!!! If I can find my little calculator I shall transfer that to my Lloyds for safe keeping until the second lot of expenses arrive.Diary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

So, I've told my sister the idea of moving to Cardiff Bay in the nice flats built for yuppies, which from a DFW perspective would save me £300-£500 a month as the OH would be living with me and the rent is cheaper than Bristol. She's gone completely mental at me saying I'm giving up everything and my OH is giving up nothing. However, she can't give me an alternative option. Besides, I don't really see that I'm giving up anything by leaving London as you're only giving something up if you give any value to it and walking away from people that make me miserable really isn't giving up anything!
Finance news:
HBC: £37 remaining
Loyds: £5 towards reducing OD
Purse: £63.24
Home: £10 plus some coins
If I can get to the end of the week without having to buy anything then I will get £62 from my sister (£50 towards her loan, £12 for her meat delivery). I can't guarantee when my expenses are going to be approved, so I can't guarantee when they will turn up. I am however going to declare £50 off my total as I said previously, because whatever happens by the end of the week I will have £50 in my pocket and only a week and a half until paydayIf I can get to payday on £50 then I'll be able to pay off £300 of my overdraft, now wouldn't that be awesome!!!

Aw thanks Mrs P
I'm super duper excited now, OH is coming round to the idea of us living together, which is ultimately what I want. We've been together almost two years now and with him being away in Canada I've realised I don't want to be miles and miles away from him. I told him that even if he spent all day doing his uni work, I'd rather spend 30 minutes having dinner with him than not see him for weeks on end, or even put pressure on him because he'd have to set aside at least a weekend every now and then to see me which could negatively impact his uni work.
He thinks that it would be seen as him being selfish, but this year is the most important year for him and I've known that since the start of our relationship. This year defines how much he'll be paid and how big our house can be, and ultimately, how much we can provide for our children. It might be a difference of an extra holiday each year, even one holiday a year would be lovely!
Anyway, I've relisted the items that didn't sell on fleabay a few weeks ago at 99p as I haven't done that yet and probably should, so I've got 16 out of my 100. I might get on and do some more whilst I'm on call this weekend, will give me something proactive to do with my time. I have three patch assessments to write in the meantime which need to be done by the end of the day, eep! Then tomorrow I'm off to Woking to shadow an installation, well it gets me out of the house
Tonight is knitting group, I've finally got the hang of this knitting stuff I think, although turning up with 10 rows of stitches is probably a little poorneed to find the pattern I'm meant to be following too. I'm making booties!

Right, so I apparently don't put myself first or do anything for myself..... so I've just remembered that for the past 3 years I've been wanting to do a trek America tour from Seattle down to Las Vegas through the Grand Canyon and several national parks. So... I am going to tell the OH that we have to move in together so I can afford to go on my dream holiday. That is me being selfish, I think if I've wanted to do it for the past 3 years then I should jolly well get to do it as soon as he finishes right?
This is the trek:
