Aw Hi Elly *waves* the weather truly is gorgeous. I want to find someone to come climb either Ben Nevis or Scaffell Pike with me next weekend (easter weekend). I just suggested to the OH that we do it when he is back from Canada and he had absolutely no enthusiasm and just said "that's a long way away". Pfft, I'm sorry that you're in Canada, but my dreams and plans don't ruddy well stop because you !!!!ered off to another country!

He's also upset me because I told him I was making a quilt for us, and he had no enthusiasm for that whatsoever. All he had to say was pretty much "meh"! Am I the only one in this relationship trying to do things to make us a home? We might not have a house, but I'm trying to make nice little bits for us, the bed, the bedset. Or am I just being stupid and I should just give up, sit on my !!!! and wait for him to come back. I'm annoyed!

So he can ruddy well rod off, I'll climb that mountain without him and won't plan a lovely holiday away for the two of us. Hmph!

On a MSE note, trying to find someone to come with me will save me in fuel costs as I think it'll cost about £150 to go to Ben Nevis, even if I have the tent so don't need a hotel room :)

Yes the youth hostels are great. Magical locations and lots of nice people.

Sorry wont be up that way kerri and have just had a knee op so would kinda hold you back anyway:rotfl: but best of luck trying to find someone to share fuel etc - thats a good idea.

I love the quilt idea. I am planning to make one before I am 50!

    Hugs (and keep posting!)

Well I did 480 miles yesterday, Edinburgh > Gretna factory outlet village ;) > Magor services > Bournemouth.

I must confess to not sticking to a budget and blowing a wodge of cash on things that were real bargains, I felt rather MSE about it actually. So what did I buy?

£3.98 - 12 double deckers (cdbury factory outlet)

£4 - birthday cards for mum, dad, 2 nephews, sister, 2 christening cards

£12 - hoodie from g*p (surprisingly I fit into a 13+ boys child one, very impressed as the adult was £30 with 30% off and I needed a new tip hoodie as mine is thin and has lots of holes in now)

£9 - very nicely fitting dark blue g*p jeans

£30 - loose fitting g*p jeans for slumming it round the house (so 2 pairs for the price of 1 effectively)

£116 - 2 oxford pillowcases & double valance 200 thread coun sateent; 2 standard pillowcases, fitted sheet, double duvet 400 thread count sateen. Now I know that this sounds a LOT of money, but I've found 300 TC online for £180 so I couldn't say no. This means that I now only need to buy the material for the curtains and my bedset that I'm making will have all the bits. Then I just need to sew the panels onto the bedding (going to do a patchwork strip to match the quilt). I've just priced up how much a designer branded full bedding set would cost me and I'd be looking at about £400 for the same thing.

£35 - printer, scanner, photocopier but should be able to expense this as it's only for work use (need to scan my receipts)

£24 - olive oil is back on offer but a better offer this time, so I bought 12 of each type (olive oil & extra virgin at £2.34 each, plus £4.50 off £30 shop)

So altogether I might have bought quite a lot of things, but I haven't gone completely looney with it and it's all very MSE I think as some is bulk buying and the others are buying where I see real bargains. I'm not telling myself off for this one :) Will be back later for a proper update, I'm really tired still.

Well done kerri for combining MSE with your spends! You're thinking about everything you buy now and thats the key thing I think. Is it worth it? Do I really want to spend on this..you know the mantra.

I was going to that well known department store Johnnie L but as my dad didnt want to go me and mum stayed here and worked in the garden. Very MSE and so I also havent spent a dime!! Yeah!!!

Aww sowwy :( I need a receipt to be able to put it through on the work expenses though. I think I actually have a printer/scanner/whatsit in my parents roofspace, but I could never get the scanner to work. I also seem to remember there's a printer somewhere in the depths as well...
