Kerri where do you get your material from? I've found abakhan and they do 30 metres of random bargain fabric for £15 plus delivery which I thought might be good to start with? (each bit is min 2metres).

Also, any chance you could send me details on how to make the card holder and carrier bag holder? Pretty please :)
Well I was getting it from fleabay, but I've just found f4bric sh4ck in the states and am going to order from them. If you buy 8yds it fits in one envelope so they only charge $8 postage. I'll let you know how long it takes and if it's worth it when it arrives, will order end of next week :)

30m for £15 is good I might have to get some of that myself ;) I've got a magpie eye for designer fabrics like H3nry Gl4ss and Alex4nder H3nry, so keeping my eye out for any that are discount prices, they're sooo expensive over here!

I'll have a look for the card holder pattern, I can't remember exactly where I got that from but it was online. The bag holder I just made on the fly, make seams at each end and thread through elastic, then fold in half and sew :) simples. You just have to have it at least 30-45cm long and about 30cm wide so you can actually get bags in it. An old shirt sleeve works just as well :)

  • Thanks :)

It's just a bag of fabric so no idea what you would get in it, but I think for me and my friend to sort of practise it will be worth it... rather than messing up nicer expensive fabric!

    Thanks Brizzled.

I should admit my spends today whilst I'm at it:

    £30 petrol
    £2 for 2 x 500ml lucozade
    75p w1spa gold bar
    £4.80 160g x 12 har1bo

So £2.75 that I shouldn't have bought tsk tsk! £30 is expensable from work. Har1bo bought using SB voucher, will put a few bags away for the nephews for Christmas :)

So....I'm definitely over this weeks weekly spend, but there's always next week and this was week one. Although week 2 requires a trip to Cardiff as a couple who are friends with my OH are having a leaving the country do that I have to attend. On the upside, I have been trying to get NSDs and so far this month I've had 7/20 days where I didn't spend any money. I reckon I can increase this.

I have just ordered a Mr T order, but that's paid for using my second purse. It's all bulk orders and I used vouchers and e-coupons (I didn't even know about the coupons until jakes-mum told me  and it was right there on the front page of the mr T grocery site!!!) I still have a lot to learn about this money saving malarkey!

I will aim for another NSD tomorrow, mr T will need to be paid for but as that's from the second purse it doesn't count :D then Thursday the budget starts again and hopefully I'll be better at it this time :)

ooh fab, hope it's gorgeous. I might order some on payday as I agree it's good to practice before blowing loads of money and messing up fabulously expensive fabric.

Still loving your lists !! :D

So is today the big day that the New Bed finally arrives ? How exciting, really hope its worth the wait !

Mr Pinot made our bed for us as few years back. The bed I had my eye on was a huge SuperKing from a very expensive shop and about £1800 , so Mr Pinot visited, took photos of the bed, scrabbled around on the floor and took photos of the underneath so he could see what joints they had used or something and made me a replica ! Sometimes I really think he chose the wrong career and should be a carpenter or posh furniture maker !!

Enjoy your day today ! :D

It's here! It's here! Mrs P I wish I could make beds, this one cost me £1200 and was from the posh bedmakers in Camden (if you know the one I mean, they handmake the bed and the mattress, there's even handstitching on the mattress!)

Oh my word it's sooo worth it, my back is aching already but I know that's from sleeping on a rubbish mattress for 18 months. The bed with mattress on is 2.5ft off the ground and I feel a bit like the princess and the pea, but it's sooo worth the money. I'm really glad I didn't take out a loan or additional credit card to pay for it and didn't get myself into further debt, just kept it at the same level.

    Todays list:
[STRIKE]1. Put old bed and mattress outside for 3cycler to collect[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]2. Await new bed / put bedding on new bed[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]3. Send patch list instructions to customer[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]4. Check customer C's upgrade approach document[/STRIKE] I'm sure they had no idea how to use spellcheck!
[STRIKE]5. Book delivery slot for Mr T for next week to make use of the £5 off voucher[/STRIKE] done, will do another round of only buying specials and essentials if they are cheaper than other shops, I'm sure I can find enough things to stock up on ;)

    To do:
    1. Patch assessment for customer A
    2. Patch assessment for customer B waiting for them to email with their current patch level
    3. Breakfast ran out of yoghurt and was not going to the shop to buy some when I have a delivery coming later
    4. Lunch
    5. Dinner
    6. Thyroxine tablets
    7. Check Mr T order when it arrives this evening
    8. HR compliance training
    9. Send customer D best practice upgrade documentation
