Thanks Z, it's because I hadn't taken into account petrol over xmas (£120) and then lending out £225 to OH and sister grrr. But at least I can see exactly where the money has gone. I could have held it in the emergency a/c and not paid vanquis in full this month, but I didn't want to incur the interest. So went with Martin on the pay debts before saving.

Although, note for future, NEVER lend sister money silly woman, she owes me over £1600 as it is which I lent her in June 2010 to clear her debts so she went and got fake breasts because she was "debt free"! Then she's gone and got herself in more debt because the £2k I put on her catalogue and paid her back £200 a month for it, she kept my payments to herself so is now worse off than before *hits head against brick wall* how am I still not able to say no to her?

She's a debt junkie. She'll never be clean while you keep enabling her.

I think I fear that if I don't lend her when she asks then she'll stop paying me back altogether and that's £1600 I don't want to lose :(
I only lend to OH in the last few weeks before his student loan comes in as he gets too stressed with uni to be able to have a job and study. I'm going to suggest he lends me £100 that I can then keep to one side as emergency money for when it happens next term :) I wonder what he'll say, he's fed up of always being skint.

Just had a mild panic couldn't find the remote and it's time to snuggle down with those yummy vampires before sleepies:rotfl::cool:

If that is the sort of person she is, then you have already lost the £1600. If that is the person she is, then you will continue to lend to her until you'll lose £3000.

There's two (and only two) cures for being skint: Spend less or earn more.

You are right about my sister, she is paying me £50 a month but she could afford to pay me more but doesn't consider it a necessity to pay me back any quicker.

OH is desperate to clear his debts about 10k with a debt collection company so at least 0%, he pays £5 a month atm, and he can't wait to pour his wages into this when he qualifies in 18months so we can start planning a proper future.

Don't yack the vampires :( Ian Somerhalder topless, 6 pack, teehee. Last episode I have now, then tomorrow it's series 1 of Sherlock Holmes 2010 :D

Really should have gone to bed earlier last night, I'm crackered today and really don't want to be in work. Small blessings though, my manager isn't in either so there will be no swearing coming from the right hand side of me yay *claps*.

I'd really like to have £40 leftover by the time payday comes around so I can get down to £3800 remaining, I know it's not much difference but not being able to afford to overpay as much this month is annoying me. I was able to overpay quite a bit more than expected last month because I'd bought presents in advance, but forgetting the petrol costs has meant I can't pay my extra £80 to freemans and I really want to get that one down as quickly as possible. I do have a cheque at home that needs to get cashed from GTM, which is meant to be for OH's kindler, but I can always pay that with my bonus (if I get it).

    Ok finances summary...
Vanquis: £76 (with £34 when I take my Next sale suit that I can't even get over my hips back)
HSBC: £14 (although currently £111 before overdraft limit as have allocated £26 to vet insurance, £35 to car insurance, £25 to savings a/c I can't touch)
    Purse: £20
    Lloyds: -£11.09 over overdraft

Right, so defo pay in cheque tomorrow then to pay for Lloyds. I think my veg box of £14.80 is also due off vanquis. I have a £100 phone bill that needs paying as well. Argh I hate January! Monday I will have an additional £175 but that doesn't help for now does it! Also not sure if the CK purchase I made yesterday has gone off the vanquis so will have to keep an eye, but I think it has as yesterday it was £203. It all gets confusing when there's ins and outs, maybe wescott has gone through?

Anyway, all I need is £20 a week for food so whether it's gone out or not I still have £60 for the remaining 2 weeks even before the OH has paid me back :)

    Best attempt some work.

Ok, so having worked out that my car insurance and vet insurance aren't due to go out until the end of next week I have paid £21.09 towards Lloyds. That's £11.09 to clear the over the overdraft naughty girl slap on wrist, and £10 overpaid :) I really want to see this overdraft gone as it costs me £11-£12 a month for a £400 debt, aka £120 - £144 a year :O when you look at it like that it's ridiculous. I know I want to clear Freemans first, but I want to put something towards this one, so £10 a month will do until freemans is clear.
