Sandra sorry to hear about your pooch. I had a dog that used to go bald on the back end. Did the vet and same as you they checked for fleas and mites. He was also allergic to flea treatment so had to pay squillions of pounds for some special stuff. In the end it was brick dust, plaster dust, dirt from stripping wallpaper etc that used to start a flare up and fire work night (hated them) he would get in a state and that would start him off.
Hope you get sorted soon

So he gave him an injection, which he said would help the fur to grow back (?), and 3 anti-flea tubes of stuff, which I couldn't collect from the pharmacy till I'd paid.
£85!!!!! So I have been even less frugal than I was this morning, but I don't mind because DH must have said to me a million times today "do you think we should take him to the vet", and this evening, he hasn't. :j:j:j

Sandra, does your dog's bald patch start at the base of his tail? If so, there's a condition known as 'stud tail' that can cause the hair to fall out, it's to do with a type of glandular overactivity, rather than mites/fleas/mange etc. Hope pooch is gettig better, whatever it turns out to be.
Wrlcome to the newbies, if anyone wants their name on th challenger list, don't forget to PM me.
Not much to report from here, still sticking to budget, still trying to get a kitchen put together and still waiting for some better weather, as it certaily doesn't seem to come visiting us very often. Let's hope we get a good summer.
I've sown my first salad leaves, cabbages, cauliflowers and peas into tubs (old fish crates with polythene over the top) and will get out into the garden as soon as it's dry enough to do anything. Even when it isn't raining, the ground here is still saturated. Then I turn on TV and see news of droughts on one channel and them spraying millions of gallons of water onto southern racetracks on another! Couldn't believe how much got used for that purpose!I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Thanks guys...
Spoke to my nurse re the grumpiness (it was out of control yesterday)a and she said to do mindfulness if you've heard of that. Done a little today and feel better. More in control. Just by being aware of the feeling and making space for it and then letting it do it's own thing and sitting with it till it goes. Not forcing it to go. Just allowing it to be.Not reacting to it...
So eating better today (have eaten heaps) which am pleased about. Yeah am back eating more unprocessed food now have the KC which I'm pleased about :j...
Off to post some parcels in a mo and have a veg day. Am so sore after exercise (haven't exercised in about a week since having the bug) that I think it'll take me a day or two to recovery LOL

I am rather lost with my budget still. Some mental block is getting in the way of me updating my spreadsheets. Everytime I remember I have just closed the computer down! Or I cannot find the statements to update with, so I end up in the same old loop of not doing! I keep saying I will get it up todate, that I will stick with it, and that I will save into the bargain. But I am not disciplined enough.
I am not in debt, but I am not saving anymore, and the savings went on the twins. Well after the car was serviced I was down to the last £150, and £100 went to buy thier laptops. I dont have a hope in hell of getting that back.
If I am to get my act together and pull myself back into line, I have got to toughen up and not help the twins anymore. Which is easier said then done.
We are having some chicken drumsticks for tea tonight. Not sure what to have with them. Then I will need to do something with the rest of them. I tend to forget and then its waisted.
I must try harder! When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
hi to all the newbies and (((((((((((((((((hugs))))))))))))))) to all that need them.
not posted for few days, finding it hard this month to stick to the budget i set, as the bank is not in sinc with my budgeting book. seem to have much less atm for some reason.:( however i am still waiting for refund off my tv license, which im hoping will be in the bank by the end of the week.
have had problems with my internet connection AGAIN.:( so had an engineer out today to check all my wires etc as talk talk said it was fine their end. didnt take him long to sort it out fair play. he only charged me £10, was really pleased with that was expecting much more.:)
im hoping that the rest of this month is going to work out a bit better financially, really cant see where i went wrong but im hoping that i am learning as i am going along as this is the first year i have tried to live frugal. i find it hard some of the time and then easier others?? does anyone else get this??
i constantly seem to have numbers in my head and trying to work out where i can move money from to pay something and then find enough money to put it back lol. im more than sure i will get there in the end but it seems like a very very very huge mountain to climb.:(
Luv P

Thanks everyone for your suggestions about my poor toe. This morning I could bend it a little but it's still aching and got worse again as the days gone on. Going to have another foot soak and will alternate with cold water Rising. I'll give it a go.
More4Less I've had a look at the cream you suggested too. It's not so much as aching as an excruciating joint kind of pain iykwim. Do you think the cream would still help?
Sandra hope your dog (sorry I don't know his name) is ok.
Honestly they don't half have us fretting when they're under the weather.
Purple you sound like you're determined to get to the top of that mountain. Everything thing you do,big and small, gets you further to the top......then just imagine what a view that will be
Really tired today.
Hope everyone is ok.
Hugs to everyone who wants one.
