On a much more positive note, my poorly son has just told me he loves me! Now things like that are totally priceless.
Aw lovely. And they always manage to say the right things just at the right timedetermined_new_ms wrote: »getting my car ins £20 less than last year & £40 less than the renewal. Then today the new ins called me to see if u they could insure both our cars for less than our quotes and they can, so we have saved another £53

Just popping in to catch up, not really got much to report. I did take advantage of the £15 gift card for £10 at WHSmith and spent it all on stamps reduced by 5% - big saving before the anticipated price rise.
Catching up with Superscrimpers as I type but I'm not really very impressed, it's all very low key measures, I'm sure folk on here would make far more interesting viewing!0 -

I'm totally sure that was a BRAND NEW pair of jeans she chopped up to make that bag - there was not even the hint of wear to the denim.:o0 -

I agree, and thought it was just for the camera. Then I watched the cornflour boots bit - and they looked filthy!! She said that they'd improve after another couple of goes, so why didn't she do that, and then show us the finished product?
I thought the child with Mrs M was her grandchild - surprised it was her son!!

Hi everyone, not sure if this has been posted yet but I have only just found it The Jam Labeliser - its free, you can design labels for jars and stuff (I have not actually used it yet though so dont know what they come out like)
Sorry I am not updating, my exams start on Friday and I am STRESSED!We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -
Superscrimpers reminds me a bit of India Knight's The Thrift Book - a few too many well-heeled people who have never HAD to be frugal parading what they perceive as being thrifty to fit with the spirit of the times.
Though really it bears no relation to true frugaldom. I got a book to review from Amazon Vine a couple of years ago called Supper for a Song, that had much the same outlook - Parma ham and Valrhona chocolate were included as ingredients, and 'a song' seemed to be a meal that came in under £10 a head. Give me The Pauper's Cookbook any day.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Ooh, I am saving superscrimpers for thurs night when dh is out, although tbh I do fastforward quite a bit! Imagine if it was made by OS moneysaving types, it would be much more informative! Every time I watch it though I hanker for a sewing machine so am now looking out for a second hand one.
Looking at the budget yesterday did give me another kick up the bottom so I have ordered the envelope to send o2 my old phone and should get £36. I replaced it because it stopped working and guess what, after having no charge for 3 months it now seems to be fine!
Have a lovely day everyone.:)Make £2020 in 2020 £178.81/£2020

Went to get some Whiskas and ....... guess what ...... a row of empty shelves with "out of stock" against all the varieties.
Not impressed & have now completed a "feedback" form and I won't be going back unless I happen to be in that particular town anyway.
Not sure if they still do them; and you have to ask at CS for them but used to be able to get "raincheck" vouchers for offers which were oos so you could use even when offer had finished, might be worth asking next time.My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.

Re the T's whisksa cat food offer - if anyone read my posts re this offer and couldn't find any, I placed an order online on Sunday for delivery this morning. Didn't think for one moment I would get it but thought if I do its a brucie bonus - price and dont have to carry it home. But just got home yay! to find T's have really excelled themselves and brought a complete order:T:T:Tincluding the whiskas. Not very often that I say this re T's but I'm very impressed. Not sure if the offer is still on online but glad I had a go. Also means my frugal savings will be better:):)0
