This is pretty normal behaviour from the nutters who occupy HPC. If you don’t scream ‘the CRASH is coming’ and constantly bemoan those blasted Vis, you’re posting and PM privileges will be revoked without warning.

It’s actually quite amusing now when some bearish users speculate amongst themselves why *insert any non-uber-bear user here* has suddenly stopped posting. They usually come to the conclusion that he’s lost the argument, struggling with a huge mortgage and a mega crash is thus around the corner. I almost feel pity for them.

You need to try having an actual debate on there i.e. disagree slightly with any aspect of the groupthink, and bingo, your posting rights will be removed. It's not just house price stuff, if you think the public sector has some good stuff to offer, or the lib dems act as a welcome brake on tory policy then you're pretty much walking into a redneck bar dressed as julian clary on there.

There is some good stuff don't get me wrong, but as a debating forum it's kneecapped itself by the number of bannings. Now they seem to be banning any new posters as soon as they surface.

PS remember to post on here when it happens so you can be accused of being obsessed or a sockpuppet/troll.

To be fair, it hasnt always been like that. There were a few top posters on there, who certainly saved me a lot of money. However, around the time FP and bubb were banned, it went seriiously downhill, and dare i say seems to be mainly occupied these days by man babies and socialists. Not my cup of tea any more.

Give them their dues, a few posters on there predicted the exact financial model that materialised 2 years later, when everyone and his dog was saying th credit crunch could not be predicted. The first time i even heard the phrase credit crunch must have been about 2005 on the hpc websitre.

Unfortunately,that form of intelligence that debated and came up with that theory back then has long gone. Bunch of wasters on there now it seems, waiting for interest rate rises that are not going to come for decades.

before my time i think, but if you search on google with the keywords hpc user banned (the method that got me to this place) you'll find this bubb character has knocked up his own website and has numerous threads with people stating they've been banned from hpc also.

I don't think HPC has many active users these days. Most threads seem to be populated by the same posters who post upwards of 30 posts a day. Maybe if they didn't spend their entire working day on an Internet forum and put some effort into their professional careers, then they would get a pay rise and be able to afford to buy the house they want.

Such a group of saddo's I have never seen before - and that includes the 'Thimble Collecting Forum of The Isle of Wight'!!!!

Now, one can forgive them for being so bitter .... they sold their families down the river by selling up - convinced that the market would crash, to then buy back at a massive profit - or, buy a mansion instead.

Trouble is, they got it badly wrong - they misjudged badly - most jumped ship in 2002 - 2004 ..... they watched the bubble blow up to 2007 (so, they jumped too early) .... they then watched as it deflated during 2008, hitting bottom in 2009.

Their problem is that they are still sat there, watching, through 2010 and 2011 ...... when prices have soared upwards.

Most have spent over £100,000 in rent, buying someone else's house for them ....... what a mess they have made of their lives.

I guess we would all be bitter about that .... go easy on them, for they know not what they do ...........

So they are banning 50 accounts per day.

Thats another 50 house price rampers who will have to spout their garbage elsewhere:)
