Yes Lou, well done, you did it.
Glad the soup went down, try for a little more, as I am sure the head and the tummy are connected with insufficient food. ((hugs)) DGMember #8 of the SKI-ers Club
Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Lou...keep going with the blog honey...it will be a good outlet for your feelings and thoughts, sometimes just getting them down and out of our head works wonders
Your hubby seems like he loves you very much, he probably just feels helpless in the face of all this and doesnt know what to do or say.
Just keep plodding on, one day at a time, an hour at a time if it helps ...you will get there xx0 -
Helloooo :hello:
I don't normally post in here, so I hope you don't mind me poking my head through the door.
I've had a mixed weekend, woke up on Friday with a pulled muscle in my shoulder which still hasn't settled. It's now bearable with painkillers but I can quickly tell when they're wearing off. However, I was determined not to miss my promised trip out to the Christmas Market at Chatsworth, so I still had a pleasant day out on Saturday. We bought a couple of Christmas pressies so that's started at last. Yesterday I cooked squirrel casserole... Should I say that again? They were being sold, prepackaged, at the market and DH thought it would be a good idea. Anyway, I've been veggie for 25 years so I had nut cutlet :rotfl:.
I've baked a banana cake this morning which is tempting me as it cools in the kitchen; doing my best to hold out for the next half hour then I have to dash off to work.Avoiding plastic, palm oil, UPF and Nestlé0 -
Afternoon all.
Monday being my day off I'm playing catch-up with all sorts of things. Haven't read any posts over the weekend so have no idea what you've all been up to. I am trying to get my head round Christmas but we're still in the thick of birthdays, all the family who don't have a birthday in May have one in November, plus a few friends. Sometime this week plan to clear enough space in the Room of Doom to get out the boxes of Christmas stuff.
findingmyway: Well done for stepping back into life, even if it's just a toe that you have dipped. The knitting/crochet group sounds good, at least you all have a common interest to share and it could lead eventually to a whole new social life.
Bargainbird: Love your illustration. Makes me laugh and gives me a warm feeling. Thanks.:)
Farmerswife: It's so lovely to think that you can now start on the next, hopefully less stressful, stage of your life.
Is the playhouse outside or inside? Friends of mine did mavels with a small re-cycled garden shed. It was called 'Hungry House' and entertained generations of children. Even,I believe, a couple of adults on one famous occasion!:o
JackieO: That was an inspired gift for a 21 year-old. Glad the birthday 'do' went well. He sounds a lovely lad.
NPM: Don't be scared. It sounds as though you will be much better off financially.
Lou: I'm not speaking to you until you stop apologising. x x x x x x x x x
Now I'm going to warm up the LO cauliflower cheese to eat with some corned beef and a roll. Whether or not we have dinner tonight depends on how hungry we feel. Oh I love this. Losing weight and gaining £s. How clever is that?:D:D:DI believe that friends are quiet angels

LouLou just read your blog. Despite how you feel right now, you sound like an incredibly strong woman to have dealt with so much hurt and heartache in your life. I hope you eventually see the light at the end of the tunnel. You have a wonderful and loving husband to share life with and, whilst it may seem difficult to, you must count those blessings. Take care of yourself xxx0

Good afternoon!
Today can be mainly described as chilly and a little bit dull here in Mancunia.
Had a busy old weekend, catching up on the chores that I have been a little lazy with lately, and achieved my 10 loads of washing and drying amongst bobbing in and out doing my other bits and pieces. I think I'm probably only about 1/3 of the way through what I need to do so am aiming for another 10 by Friday evening (wow, I need to get out more!!)
ESMF: As I've been less than efficient with my household chores lately, there's no way I could do this without my dryer - it's a godsend at this time of year (although not very OS or :money:) . That said I did get a few of the lighter things on the line this weekend, thankfully the rain held off for a while.
Had 3 tradesmen round to quote for a piece of work that has been botched by somebody else, and another round this evening. Here's hoping I can get it sorted before Christmas and will be able to plod on with our planned programme of decoration next year *crosses fingers.... tightly*
Tonight's tea is a nice simple stir fry, as DH will be picking up DD and DS from various family and after-school activities.
Have not been shopping this week so dinners for the rest of this week may be a freezer lucky dip. Will pop the BM on tonight so at least there's some fresh bread in the house! Really want to get cracking with the prep for winter this week too...... a lined curtain for the stairs window and food supplies are the first items on that agenda.
Have a lovely big :grouphug: to all those in need.
Enjoy the rest of your day!

Hi,
Thanks for all the hugs, managed to eat some chicken & veg last night, but couldn't face the roasties or yorkies. The whole time dinner was cooking my poor tummy was churning away like a cement mixer just from the smell:( am considering a peg for my nose today
Have read the thread but can't remember names so am sending hugs & spoons to those in need (you know who you are) x
Also a welcome to our newest poster x
Am off now to read Lou's blog x
