    Hi

I was wondering if anyone could point me toward a veggie burger recipe I saw on the site some time ago. It used a pack of sage and onion stuffing mix as the basis for the burger. I went out and bought a value stuffing mix to try it and now I cant find the recipe!

Has anyone else noticed that since Dr Oetker bought Supercook the cake cases have got smaller? They used to nicely fit in my tins, but now there's loads of space round them. Does anyone know of a decent-sized and widely available alternative?
I haven't been here for a while, so you may have already found some cake cases, but I just use Asda's own(pink, blue, yellow and green in a see-through tub) for small cupcake buns. Lakeland also make some decent ones. As for muffin cases, I find them all pretty much the same. HTH :)

I ended up buying Easybake - we don't have Asda here. The bases are 2" across, but Dr Oetker ones are 1/4" too small.

Can anyone help me please? I have moved into a new house which is a bit run down. I tried to clean the door handle, letter box and number with a brass cleaning fluid and what a mess! It has just left a creamy powder between all the mouldings. Is there anything that can remove this and shine them up? Thanks.

Old toothbrush? Or did you throw them all away when you moved?

Viscose is a devil for this. It always needs ironing. It's a natural fibre made from wood cellulose (completely irrelevant I know :D)
Dredging viscose up again, just out of interest ...

I bought a vest the other day which said that it was viscose / bamboo.

So is the wood cellulose in viscose always bamboo, or does it vary?

I'm interested because bamboo is being marketed as the new silk, and I wear a lot of silk! (from charity shops, you understand ...)

I always thought that bamboo had only recently been used to make clothes. Your question intrigued me, so I had a look. Apparently viscose is normally made from wood cellulose, but it seems to be getting more common to use bamboo as it's less environmentally damaging than using wood pulp. Bamboo also grows more quickly so I suppose is a more sustainable source of fibre.

We used to have bamboo growing in the garden when I lived in South Africa. It's a pain to get rid of. It's just huge pieces of grass, so it spreads out under the ground in the same way, so to get rid of it involves some heavy digging to follow where the roots go. Some are so strong that they can grow up underneath a house and push up through the floor. If you use green bamboo canes to stake your plants you have to use them upside down otherwise they'll just root (we had a gardener who put them in the right way up - I noticed them starting to sprout at the top, but luckily I caught them before they'd started spreading out under the ground) I just can't understand anyone wanting to grow the stuff in the UK! Sorry - a bit of an irrelevant rant there :rotfl:

Thanks, (one of the few things I didn't throw away was an old toothbrushe!) I have have tried scrubbing it down but any suggestions as to what I should put on the toothbrush to remove the remains of the so called cleaning stuff?

how bad is black mold on a mattress? It is in a patch about a foot across in the centre. The mattress has not been used for some time but hoping to use it again within the next month or two.

    Thank you for any help.

If the patch of black mould is a foot across, then personally I wouldn't risk using the mattress at all. The mould is a type of fungus which thrives in damp, poorly ventilated conditions, perhaps a spare rarely used bedroom. It is a known allergen and irritant with an established reputation as a trigger for respiratory problems. The spores grow on the surface, but the 'roots' spread inside for quite a long way, so it's difficult to get rid of.

Sorry to be so pessimistic, but hope it helps.

I found this webpage useful, although I haven't used any of their products.
