  • I bought this deal also and have been concerned so I also emailed KGB deals and this is their reply
I asked them to clarify if the watches were genuine

    Thank you for your email.

Before anything else, allow us to express our gratitude for purchasing this offer from us. In lieu with your concern, the details published in our website are according to the specifications of the merchant. Before we have these deals published, we sort and clarify them first with our merchants and get their approval as to how they should look and read like.

We appreciate your feedback on this and we hope that we are able to clarify you on this matter.

Should you require further assistance or you need other concerns to be attended and clarified, please do not hesitate to email us back.

Thank you for choosing KGB deals

I'm reading this that they basically present the advert the way the merchent wants. They did not clarify that the watches are genuine and this offer was set to run longer when I checked earlier today and has suddenly expired. Hope I am wrong but it does not look good to me..sorry

i really dont think kgb would allow fakes to be sold through their site they would have to see the goods before hand there is no way a big company like kgb would allow somebody to say oh ive got xxx to sell and just go with that.

Well of course kgb would not knowingly "allow fakes to be sold" but on the other hand they (and other daily deal sites) don't exactly have a history of doing much due diligence on the deals that they offer. They also almost certainly do not see/check the goods beforehand either.

This for example, was one recent KGB Deals "deal":

There are long threads on MSE with posts from people who have had problems with daily deal sites - here is the one for Groupon complaints but there are a couple of threads on KGB deals somewhere too.

but to be perfectly honest for £24.99 as long as they look the real deal and nobody can tell when they are on the wrist if they did turn out to be fakes (which i dont think they will) i wont mind, as they say you get what you pay for and as long as my ice watch looks as good as the next i don't mind.

I have no idea if the watches are genuine or not - time will tell (no pun intended) :) but are you honestly saying that if they were not you would not mind!? You must have more money than sense and be very easily pleased if you are happy to spend £25 on something which you are told is genuine and then would not be bothered at all if it then turned out it wasn't. If you really don't mind wether or not you get a genuine ice watch or a counterfeit then I am sure market stalls up and down the country (and ebay too where dozens listed at 1p starting price go unsold with no bids and many more are sold for as little as £1) would have plenty on offer for a lot less than 25 quid. But how long do you think a fake brand name watch might last? Plus of course any manufacturer guarantee would also be worthless if an item was not genuine.

Nobody on here is saying the watches in this deal are fake but people are simply raising concerns about a few things as unlike you most people on here would mind if they paid for a genuine watch and got something that wasn't.

  • hello all,
just spoke to the owner of watchwear about the KGB deal, and i have purchased a watch from them, i only live 2 miles away from them so asked could i pick it up, it is now sitting proudly on my wrist and can honestly say these watches are brilliant, no fears about them being fake or copies as has already been said today, there are too many busy body nosey loaners with nothing better to do but moan and pry into other peoples business on here, by the way, they also own a beauty shop and valeting company so i have all faith in the service and will be returning for more as christmas presents for the large family i have, "buy with confidence" i did. fernywillow, competitionscafe and bristol boy get a life.

I posted the deal so was a little concerned when people where genuinly concerned and as I am a relativley new poster I emailed KGB to offer people who had bought the watches from reading my post some reassurance from KGB themselves. Im glad your happy with your purchase time will only tell for the rest of us and your last comment was not needed, we all have lifes.

Anyone heard anything yet? I had an email from KGB saying they'd had quite a number of worried customers so had ended the deal early and were looking into it.
  • I was right in thinking something dodgy was up with this deal.....

Just had this email sent to me from KGB:

    "Dear Customer

Thank you for your recent purchase from kgbdeals of Ice Watches.

Unfortunately we have been informed that the merchant is now unable to deliver this product to you. We sincerely regret this occurrence and will of course, be refunding you in full within the next 2 working days to your original method of purchase.

Our goal is to provide you with the very best deals and service. When an unusual circumstance like this occurs, we make it right. We value you as a customer, and we look forward to providing you with incredible deals every day.

    Kind Regards

    Your kgbdeals Team"
