Seller trying to increase postage
Comments

These are also the facts. The seller has made a mistake. No reason exists to do this on purpose. The seller has also gone to the lengths of uploading proof that this item will cost more to post.
If you believe all mistakes must be punished - not for your gain of course, oh no no no, but to teach a lesson, then no medical treatment should be given to an alcoholic, drug user, or even a sprotsman who gets injured. Or do we only apply this logic to money?
This is pure and simple. Stick the boot in mentality. Too much watching of the Dragons and that disgusting barrow boy Sugar in my view. People sell a few bits of tat on ebay and think they know how business works.
This post is all about greed. Principles my backside. It's £2.80. Why would the OP be asking for advice on forcing the sale if that's not the case? "can I report them to ebay?".
I've had staff make mistakes in business, they are human. One sent a cheque out for four thousand pounds but put the figures as forty. What do you think happened? You reckon that anyone would have the gall to claim the money? The people I did business with had integrity and knew that errors happen.0 -
I also refund if I charge too much and take the hit if I charge too little. Just because I do doesn't advocate me demanding someone else do the same. I have no problem with asking for the refund as I said earlier, but some are advocating the seller should send it anyway, and that is the sellers choice.
Personally I wouldn't even leave a neg as it's obvious the seller has made a mistake and is in no way trying to rip off the buyer. I would leave a neutral as at the end of the day what harm has been done so long as a refund is given quickly?
Last year I had some auctions ending the week before Christmas. On the 18th of December my Dad was rushed to hospital with a life threatening illness. I contacted all my winning bidders and explained the situation and offered them all a full refund if they wanted it. Not one of them questioned my reasoning and not one of them cancelled their sale. That's the real world where if you're honest then hopefully everyone accepts it. How many on here would have believed me and how many assumed I was making up some story? Accept people make mistakes and things happen beyond our control. Wherever possible most sellers do their utmost to put them right. Save the negative feedback for those that TRULY deserve it.It may sometimes seem like I can't spell, I can, I just can't type0 -

consider it a bail out
This would be the logical answer IMO. Its over a couple of quid !!!!!!. Just do the nice thing and pay the extra, the stamps prove this cost more than £2 do they not?
I cant see what anyone has to gain from being arsey and saying 'this is what it said on the listing so tough'0 -
I'm with MacFly on this one.
The foreign seller has clearly made a mistake on their postage cost to a foreign country, so they are asking for the extra. They are NOT making a profit from it!
Either pay the money if you still want it for 99p + postage COST, or cancel the transaction.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
I really can't believe that people think it is acceptable for a seller to accept money from the buyer and hold it for 9 days without even contacting the buyer- 9 days- how far does a seller have to go for people to consider them not terribly good?
My neg would be for sitting there for 9 days with my money without even bothering to spend a single minute to let the buyer know there was a problem.
So for all those threads we currently have from sellers upset about their stars- this must show that such sellers must be absolutely appalling if buyers will put up with waiting 9 days and then having demands for more money made before items can be shipped and still think the seller is a good one.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. 9 days is a long time however this doesnt alter the facts in that I dont see how being pig headed about it will benefit anybody. The seller has sent proof of the postage cost so surely the right thing to do is pay the extra? Its an open and shut case for me. Whats the point in holding the 9 days against the seller?0 -
The thing is, the seller has sent me a (albeit unreadable) picture of the envelope with the stamps stuck on, to indicate how much it's costing to send. So from the off she was expecting that'd i'd be ok with paying it before maybe getting a quote and then asking me if i'd be pay, and if she doesn't send it she'll be peeling the stamps off anyway.
I'm not being miserly by refusing to pay the extra, it's just principle, she had a load of other items for sale so I assume she's asked others to chalk up for postage too. She could go on to do this to other people, which I believe is misleading, as like I said, if she had charged 5 euros postage from the start then I wouldn't have bought it, as I feel the item isn't worth that much.
Fine, then don't pay the extra, she won't post it, and you can neg her. Where's the dilema? They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -

I don't think anyone is saying the seller is a good seller - merely suggesting that the OP might have better things to worry about? It's such a ridiculous non-issue that I can't believe people are getting hot under the collar about it. Guess what, sh*t happens and life is full of disappointments. Being asked to pay an extra 3 Euros for some crappy dress ain't one of them. The OP has the opportunity to take her "revenge" in the form of a little red blob. Maybe she'll be able to get a different dress from one of the store mispricing glitches she likes to take advantage of. Nothing to see here, move along. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -

You admit in another of your posts that you lied in H&M about where you had bought one of their items, so that you could make an exchange that you were not entitled to make. I hardly think you can call "principles"?They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -

.
That's not the OP's question though. She is annoyed at not getting her item for less than cost and wants to know what she can do to force the sale.
