All sellers should be accurate. There is absolutely no excuse for incorrect postage prices.0 -

The poor woman in Greece has obviously made an error in the listing and some are advocating it's only fair that she should be left out of pocket for selling something. That is grossly unfair.
If I sell on eBay and I miscalculate the postage I pay out the extra from my own pocket and use it as a lesson to be more careful next time. The seller here ok has made a mistake, she should just chalk it up to experience and send it anyway. Surely the 3 euros to her is not worth the inevitable neg if she does not send.0 -
Let's get a little perspective here. It's 3 Euros. OP, if you want the item, pay it, if not, don't. Either way, you can leave the seller a neg. They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0

If the seller wanted more, they should have asked before posting (although still pretty cheeky). Once they posted, they pretty much acceppted the loss.0

The thing is, the seller has sent me a (albeit unreadable) picture of the envelope with the stamps stuck on, to indicate how much it's costing to send. So from the off she was expecting that'd i'd be ok with paying it before maybe getting a quote and then asking me if i'd be pay, and if she doesn't send it she'll be peeling the stamps off anyway.
I'm not being miserly by refusing to pay the extra, it's just principle, she had a load of other items for sale so I assume she's asked others to chalk up for postage too. She could go on to do this to other people, which I believe is misleading, as like I said, if she had charged 5 euros postage from the start then I wouldn't have bought it, as I feel the item isn't worth that much.0 -
its easy to get the correct price with a pair of kitchen scales
if i list anything before listingt i will weight this on a kitchen scale and then go on the RM website to get a postage price foir that weight.
they would be able to do the same process in greece or they could take to local PO and ask them to weight and give a price so you can place a correct postage price on the listing0 -

Don't even consider paying the extra. Just tell her you expect either th eitem to be posted today or a refund issued today.
If you don't get a refund by tomorrow then open a full INR claim in paypal and force her to give you your money back. She's already had it fr 9 days, why doesn't she just refund and accept her neg with dignity?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If I was out shopping and the till rang up £5 for my purchases but was then asked to pay £8 because they had entered it wrong in the system I wouldn't pay the extra.
Seller made the error (and we have all done it) they take the hit once.0 -

No, of course you're not being miserly. After all, you've paid the massive sum of 99p for a dress.
You stick to your principles, even though they stink, along with the majority of posters on here.
Indignation if they are charged too much. Indignation if the seller is trying to avoid a loss. These aren't principles - buy a dictionary.
Asian kids working their fingers to the bone for pennies? Parents should have less of them and get better jobs.
The Chinese child left to die in the road? Should have looked both ways.0 -

I think you might be over reacting a bit!
Stick to the facts, seller sells something, accepts the money and 9 days later suddenly decides they can't possibly send without more money.
AS you say all this over a matter of a few pounds- so why doesn't the seller stop being so silly and just send the dress- it is hardly an expensive lesson to learn and better she only loses a few pounds this time rather than keep doing it and lose potentially more in the future.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
