I hardly think soaking a van full of food items with bleech is an acceptable accident- sauce maybe, jar of jam- but bleech. Like i said i didn't order bleech so why would i expect my food to be covered in it? If i'd wanted my food items delivered with chemicals i would have ordered some.

It's not acceptable for them to be covered in bleach, but anything else is fine?

In all fairness, when accidents happen and things are spilt, the person responsible for dealing with it doesn't have a choice of what spills and where. Otherwise i'm sure they would make sure it was fairy dust or something instead. :).

people will order bleach, WUL, soap powder etc, but i would think that if an order contained these items then these should be placed in the bottom racks, so if they did leak they would not leak on other customers orders.

    OP, you're over-reacting a bit.

Of course it's not acceptable, but they didn't do it on purpose did they. It was an accident. Do you think people who order cleaning products have them delivered in a separate van, or do you think yours is the only shopping on the van?

You're here getting all het up and angry before you've even spoken to anyone properly. I've never had any problems getting refunds for out of date or damaged items, I can't see why it would be any different in this instance,

I don't see what you expect to achieve by getting angry with people here because they don't think it's outrageous and can see it's an accident.

!!!!!! i am saying i don't think its acceptable that food items are transported with chemicals- is that so odd?

i don't want compensation i want the food i ordered-not to be fobbed off with a refund. Or be told that it wasn't their fault or some other bs that results in me loosing £50!

Some people are so nasty on the forums these days-i've had food delivered covered in bleech meant for a weeks worth of food. I now have no food- missing £50 of cash- and bags full of reeking food blocking my porch. What exactly did i do wrong coming on here asking for some advice?

You should know not to react, just explain to cs what happened and they should refund your shop or re deliver the damaged food.

seriously? You need to chill out. You're saying they will fob you off before you've even spoken to them!

No ones been nasty to you, youve had an order delivered which is obviously contaminated, due to an accident. They will need to replace the order - simple as.

No point getting angry or confrontational - you're assuming their response before fairly offering the opportunity to resolve it.

Please, chill out, for your sake!

Yes. Considering the nature of the shop it's fairly likely that someone will have ordered some kind of cleaner with bleach in it, and it's unrealistic to expect a separate lorry, just for that.

  • yeauch, over-reaction OP. I am sure a simple phone call will sort it all out.

Accidents happen, no-one has been hurt and I am sure you will have your replacement food in the very near future.

Try not to take this internet forum stuff so personally.

  • Hi, What I would have done is refused the order on delivery, but as this was not done a remady is needed.

I would therefore call customer service to see if there driver remembers it, and only then continue the process (record the call if poss).
If the driver remembers then the call attendant will be a witness.

If you need the food then you can take the shopping to a local store and hope they take it back, giving refrence to the call you made to customer service earlier, if they donot take it back then do your shopping anyway.

Alternativly you can contact customer service who can give you some credit towards another delivery, and the old products will be collected.
and in the mean time buy some emergency stuff from the local shop.

    Hope this helps
