i already bought now thanks,i got kis premium protection 2012, but link might help others who are looking to buy. i was happy enough with £29.99 as protection runs out today. plus it works out at £6 computer for the year so not a bad price.thanks again.

You can buy it in advance. :)

Does the installer not remove the earlier versions? Are they still installed on your system?
It's much cheaper to buy Kaspersky online through Amazon etc.
Or you can get it FOC if you use Barclays online banking.

i have used Kaspersky for many years and when you install a new version it will search for older versions and remove them if needed before it continues the install

thanks texranger, kaspersky seems to advise to remove all previous versions eg 2009/2010/ 2011 before installing latest version with removal tool.then on other pages it says auto removes when installing new version.
takethis i have looked on amazon but can only find the 2011 version for £10, can you post the link please.

The 2011 codes work for the 2012 and subsequent versions.

That's certainly true if you are upgrading using an existing licence, which is what I did fairly recently.

  • I'm using KIS 2012 on a free Barclays licence. You do not need to uninstall older versions when you upgrade, and (as has been previously mentioned) licenses are not version specific.

I recently upgraded from 2011 to 2012 with around 200 days left on my license.

If the new version uninstalls the old version, then it seems that you do need to uninstall the old version.
So the choice is either manual or automatic.
