Does the installer not remove the earlier versions? Are they still installed on your system?
It's much cheaper to buy Kaspersky online through Amazon etc.
Or you can get it FOC if you use Barclays online banking.

I do. Though I download the latest version from their website and just use the licence from the disc.

i always assumed the previous versions would automatically be removed but i am not sure after reading up on kaspersky. i got a 5 licence disc from currys for £29.99 so thought it was a good price.

Recommended procedure seems to be to uninstall older versions first.
So I''d take out any remaining older versions using Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs.

thanks macman.following your link the knowledge base list says 2011 will automatic be deleted.
but that conflicts with other advice given on kaspersky website.
  • Kaspersky does have a free removal tool, use that

yes i know letsbehonest but thanks anyway. that is what i dont understand, part of the kaspersky website says to run the removal tool several times to remove previous installations and not to rely on the add/remove in control panel but other parts of the site say previous installations are auto removed.
