Third party ,i feel, has no money, and going the Civil courts would leave me out of pocket big time with no promise of money back .Only want money back.If it comes to it l will go down this route, l suppose, but at moment l hope not! Small claims only deal with up to 5000. pounds so no good. Magistrate no good either.
Thanks though0 -
There MUST be something the banks can do to aid me in some way.0

It is insulting to me for anyone to suggest that l have not learned from a mistake that has so heavily cost me not just financially but emotionally too.
The bank didn't red flag the transaction rightly or wrongly so there is no point going over that again, the bank isn't going to help you and you've contacted the police which would appear to be the correct thing to do. Step back from this forum as it's obviously upsetting you at the moment and come back on when you have updates, I really hope you get a positive outcome.Every Penny's a Prisoner.

Third party ,i feel, has no money,
If you take it to court yourself and you win then as far as I am aware, your costs are added to the 3rd partys debt?
They should be punished one way or another, either by through the courts by you or criminally by the police. Preferably both!!0 -
I am confused as to how you sent it to someone you previously bought something off? Were the account details the same as the person you wanted to send money to bar one number?
Just a bit confused.0 -

I think this is going to be the biggest problem. If the 3rd party has no money then even the banks couldn't get it back even if they should.

just feel stupid and let down by 'the system' people should know that this sort of thing happens a lot and they should be really, really careful as there is no 'safety net' out there.
If l had wanted to give 10,000 to someone l would have sponsored a few children through uni or given it to a hospital in outer mongolia.0 -
