Good luck to the others still waiting.
weeeellllllllllll......... I thought this was all over for me since I got my cheques this past Saturday
unfortunately, the payment taken out from my account this month was the old amount which means that I have overpaid £71 this month. I called them this morning to find out if my payment in December will be adjusted down by the overpayment.
to be honest, not going to push hard on this but just a mildly irritated.0 -
gadgets.loco - oh dear, they are crafty arent they!
Well this is my 6th week this week so I am really hoping they are running 2 weeks behind and i will get my other cheques within the 2 extra week wait although it doesnt sound promising by reading the posts on here.

I am soon to make a complaint to FirstPlus over their handling of a transfer of charge request and the tactics used in forcing me to settle my loan early so they can avoid paying out my 5 yr refund of ppi charges to the tune of £10k. I have opened a thread Firstplus within the reclaiming forum and welcome some suggestions. I certainly feel now it is time to follow the route many of you here have and also I would like to claim the lost fees already paid out in survey and solicitors fees. I would welcome it greatly if you have a moment to read my other post and see if I have a case to forward to Firstplus and Barclays. Thanks0

I have had an ongoing battle with First plus, which i have posted about previously on here. I got to the stage of an offer letter back in july which niggly and others (thanks again !) confirmed was wrong. First plus would not accept it was wrong so i went back to the ombudsman. They have been trying to get this sorted out for me but the advisor in charge of my case rings me to say that firstplus have not responded! I have even emailed the CEO office several times and to date have had no reply.I have sent recorded letters and no reply. I have phoned to try to speak to the person whose name was on the letter but am told they do not speak to customers.I only got to speak to front desk, four times about the wrong calculation.
As pointed out previously, what chance have we got when they are even ignoring the ombudsman. The chap said they have to be fair to both parties and as such they have 4 weeks to respond to any query. They have missed that. I suggested that he needs to flex a bit of muscle -tell them they are now overstepping the line and to respond with in a few working days but they wont do that. First plus are blatantly taking the mick out of every one. They are evasive, they are liars, they are incompetent and they are getting away with it.And the FOS seem powerless to do anything about it.
Anyway the FOS guy in charge of my case then said he has emailed some senior manager. The next day this manager replied stating that there is an error in the calculations, a new offer letter will be sent asap. Four times i spoke to Firstplus who were adamant the original offer was correct.I just hope that the offer letter comes soon and that it is correct - may need you guys on here to double check it- as then i feel i i will be in for a wait in trying to get the cheque. I really hope Barclays get pulled up for all this, the way they are handling these cases. They are in clear breach of the regulations set out but are not getting any punishment.
Good luck to all other people going through this.0 -
Hi all
Just an update received our Firstplus cheques today whoop whoop, 8 weeks and 3 days after we sent back the (first) acceptance (4/10/11), the first was sent back because the signatures didnt match !. Faxed back new ones, told them it was rubbish - they did match and that they were just wasting time, they told me I had to start the 6-8 weeks ago, told them NO !. So was surprised to get cheques so quickly. Started the claim back in June 2011.
I did email Bob Diamond on Tuesday evening (29/11/11), no reply as yet not sure if my email and the cheques were just coincidential or whether it shifted them on (envelope postmarked 1/12/11).
The settlement figures we were given for acceptance were £4162 and £855 (interest), we received £4658 and £1377, I assume that this is extra interest ? Does anyone know ? would it be from 4/10/11, it seems a lot extra and dont wanna spend it if its wrong. Any advice ?
and lastly a big big thank you to everyone on here for all your help, couldnt have done it without you. :j:T:A

Hi debsclark17, congratulations on the success :T They have obviously re calculated the redress and like you say it does appear to be quite a lot just for 2 extra months wait. I wouldn't worry about it to be honest, it seems that two different people within the same organisation can't come up with similar figures. Bank them and enjoy, you have to pay tax on the 8% interest though but only if it has been paid GROSS. You don't want the tax man on your back after you have spent itSuccesses
