Perhaps the newst post box could be slimmed or the sidebar removed on the main forum list pages as surely its the thread titles that are the most important part of those pages?

underneath the new masthead at the top is a comment about the new changes.....it also shows a link for whats changed and on this it will show you how to change your settings to 'stretchy' so that the thread appears like it used to...across the whole page

note that this only works if you're logged in though....once you log out it reverts to the 'squashed' look until you log back in. hth

Look at this board critically. There is far too much noise on each page. vBulletin is very heavy, unlike the rest of the site. The forum index is so squashed up, nothing is readable. There are far too many boards and far too many sticky threads on each board. Every page is a jumble of fonts (I can see at least four as I type this). Are you sure the format of the thread title is the problem?
