Gleaning information from this site is getting difficult, with the number of boards and threads.
But worthwhile IF you have the time and I personally have saved a load of dosh in the last few months.
I make up a shopping list from this site, mySupermarket, MadaboutBargains, Trolleychecker wherever. HUKD is a better format and the one I use last thing before going out of the door and I
read the chat later.0 -
I like the fact that the name of the shop is listed as there are certain shops i wont deal with , so will try and adopt the new way of posting , although I dont see much point in posting the deal end date in the title ,threads usually die a death soon as it becomes unavailable.
Also when hovering the cursor over the thread title enough info is usually shown to decide wether to actually bother reading the post.my favourite food is spare ribs0 -

For example:
Tesco: Hartley's Jelly pots glitch (free) instore only E:13/11/11
Asda: Muller Corner glitch (10 for 30p) instore only E: 15/11/11
Amazon: Fisher Price Baby Walker £5 (was £30) E: 21/11/11
Sainsburys: Cars 2 Wii game £10 (was £35) online only E: 18/11/11
I can understand that, but glitches seems a bit of a sore point...it's a grabbit right that second we don't know when it's going to end and the likes of the clothing items that are going through at 4p in Tesco just now does that not just make things easier for Mr.T managers/staff.
This is MSE let's keep it that way not a copied version of HDUK.I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!0 -
Hm. I suggested this during the grocery grabbits saga. (that is why there are grocery grabbits there in the example)
I do see why a lot of people are saying it's a bad idea, i do agree to a point. But... really, do you think Tesco aren't clever enough to find all the info without this? It would make the place a lot easier to navigate. And besides, if Tesco want it making easy they'll just use HUKD, not this site, especially with the invention of "secret" threads where deals are hidden amongst 100's of pages of chat so that group of people can keep it to themselves.
Lots of forums have a policy of "decriptive thread titles" and grabbit is a perfect example of where it should be applied. But like i said i can see both arguments.
Anyway, I don't know about anyone else but the board seems really quiet lately, maybe it's because of the "expired" Tesco thread but it seems to be getting used a lot less either way. Less grabbits or less people?
I see nothing wrong with the suggestion for it's good intent to benefit the most important people of all i.e. us. In practice it would need to be trialled to test it. If it doesn't work then it was worth the try.
It's a bit unfortunate that some old scores are being settled and partisan views are being aired that detract from the discussion.
I would doubt very much that it would help Tesco et al anymore than it does now. Simply posting anything on a public forum does that. The behaviour of the Ostrich springs to mind;)Awaiting a new sig0 -
is this supposed to have started yet? If it has nobody seems to have even tried to adopt the new format which rather proves that it's a complete non-starter.0

Any chance any of the mods could clear this up? Preferably starting with this thread which has descended into childish bickering?
The 'rules' threads could be combined too - spam button, codes, swapping etc.0 -
The wow factor thing makes the place look cartoonish.0
