As you well know, "that poll" was rather badly worded, "do you want grabbits to stay on the grabbit board" or something like that, when what the poster was actually wanting to do was keep everything about TESCO on the grabbit board :) Now do a poll with the words framed like "would you rather grocery items moved to the grocery board, or stay on grabbit" and see what answer you get :);)

So if the poll was so badly worded, feel free to create your own and we'll vote. The OP of that poll was not wanting to keep just Tesco threads on grabbit but any deals where the emphasis is on the grabbit. Tesco selling sausages at 10p off isn't a grabbit but a glitch on the pricing meaning that each pack of sausages is only 10p is a grabbit. Not all grocery threads should be on the grocery forum as some of them are time sensitive.

Sigh, yes, well done, you "waded in" and yes, well done all those from the Tesco thread for "thanking" Raven's post.

Do you think that sort of thing is helpful in ANY way? Honestly? Sit back and think about it before posting a knee jerk reaction.

In reply to the bit in bold - Excellent :T Keep up the good work.

Knee jerk reaction - far from it. I saw this thread last night and just had a wee chuckle to myself that there are still people on here who want this site to morph into HUKD. If either site were perfect then only one would exist or they would both contain the same deals. As it is, there are deals posted on HUKD which then get posted here and vice versa. The difference between there and here is the community spirit and lack of moaning. Well there used to be a difference.

I wasnt going to comment on this thread after the commotion a few weeks back. I was the poster who started the poll which you and a few others TBH slated. What upsets me about this board is that some people are so quick to criticise, but never actually bother to do anything themselves. Why don't you start the "perfect poll" rather than just moaning about the one I started ;)

Your post above is extremely condescending with its "sigh" comments, as it quoting posts from other threads TBH and in no way helpful.

PMSL do you get paid for going around trying to discredit people and their comments?

    Get a life..............or a job as an MP ;)

Ok, well the posts between us are done :) I'd rather have a reasoned debate with someone who can respond to comments without resorting to insults.

(edit, and now I see the thread has gone the way it always does sigh) <---- I'm doing a lot of this today!)

Yes, Nikki, et al, you carry on, I'm done. Rename Grabbit the Tesco Grabbit board and be done with it.
    I'm out.
  • Hm. I suggested this during the grocery grabbits saga. (that is why there are grocery grabbits there in the example)

I do see why a lot of people are saying it's a bad idea, i do agree to a point. But... really, do you think Tesco aren't clever enough to find all the info without this? It would make the place a lot easier to navigate. And besides, if Tesco want it making easy they'll just use HUKD, not this site, especially with the invention of "secret" threads where deals are hidden amongst 100's of pages of chat so that group of people can keep it to themselves.

Lots of forums have a policy of "decriptive thread titles" and grabbit is a perfect example of where it should be applied. But like i said i can see both arguments.

Anyway, I don't know about anyone else but the board seems really quiet lately, maybe it's because of the "expired" Tesco thread but it seems to be getting used a lot less either way. Less grabbits or less people?

Perhaps you'd like to explain why a grocery grabbit shouldn't be on the grabbit board??

maybe because there is a specific board called "Food Shopping and Groceries" which was created for those. The hint is in the title...
Seems MSE wish to pander to those who can't be bothered to do a bit of leg work and read the threads.

but there's many more, and a lot of those were the protesters over the other issue, that "can't be bothered to do a bit of leg work" and read the other board.
  • And also, it's not a case of not being arsed to read the threads and "do the legwork". The suggestion was more based around what the competitions board has, Just because HUKD are doing it already doesn't mean we want MSE to be the same. MSE will always be better than HUDK because we have better people ;) and are generally more helpful and friendly. But what's wrong with taking a good idea and using it to suit our own forum? It's not copying, it's just what most forums do anyway.

But yeah, forget it mentioned it, it's a rubbish idea and we should stop caring about the board we use everyday and ways to improve it :(:o:o

Couldn't disagree more tbh. A grabbit is a grabbit doesn't matter if it's eggs or socks. The food board has been getting used for meal plans, threads moved from OS and general discussion on prices. Grabbit needs to contain ALL short lived offers.

Interesting given you chose to ignore my reasoned argument but instead felt the need to go hunting for remarks on our Tesco dsiscussion thread instead and then requote them here with condescending remarks attached.

LOL, you really would do well as a politician! :rotfl:

LMAO, we can add diva and drama queen to your CV too then.........

Carry on with what exactly? I made a comment that I was upset about you slating the poll and rather than doing that why didnt you start one? That is reasoned debate surely, and common sense. Or am I expected to just sit back and let you comment on the poll and not respond?

I'll agree as I thought the board was quite good at the moment, it was a balance like it used to be.

I'm not sure posting this thread up was very helpful, even though that was the intention:(
