We use a Berghoff Cast Iron Wok and dont just use it for the typical stove top cooking. We make Paella in it, stick it in the oven and straight onto the table, spagbol etc...
Berghoff is about £81.00

Hi Gatos, I noticed that as well. Off topic, but when I ran my own business I never charged anyone £6.66 - I always let them off for a penny!!0 -
I've been googling and came across this;

Might see how much postage is and give it a try. I've got some le Creuset pans, and thought about one of their woks, but I'd rather have just cast iron, which I know I can treat roughly and it'll be none the worse for it.0 -
Errm well, it dosn't seem to be in the same league, but our wok came from Tesco at the pricely sum of £9.97
I can recommend that one0 -

lol. Glad this helped:rotfl: . I hope the wok info helped as well. I forgot to mention that sometimes you can find the Le Creuset woks on ebay at relatively good prices. That is of course if you are interested in Le Creuset and that you have the patience for the right one to coe alongGoing to war over religion is basically killing one another to see who's got the better imaginary friend...:rolleyes:

I used to have a steel wok, and to be honest I never would again. Like cast iron you had to rinse it with hot water and coat with oil to prevent rusting, the thing is that you then have to find somewhere to keep it where dust etc cannot stick to the oil and if you don't use it for a while it feels really sticky.0

I have over the years assembled quite a few cast iron pots but have no wok yet - I bought a cheap wok a while ago from Sainsburys for £3.99 because I wanted to see if I use it before I invest in a big one and I have to say - we do use it a lot. So this year I will invest in a nice cast iron one - like the look of the cast in style one and have bookmarked the page.0

I love my le creuset saucepans and casserole and wouldn't be without my cast iron skillets, but I like to be able to lift and shake a wok so I bought a stainless steel one and would highly recommend it. Although you don't season it in the same way as cast iron you don't wash it harshly either, and mine has now changed colour slightly inside which I am told is the equivalent of the seasoning on a cast iron pan. It has a thick base in the middle that stands on the hob, and the sides are thinner but the heat really travels well up them.
Sorry but I don't know what make it is - I bought it at a car boot sale (for £1 if I remember rightly, it was several years ago) and although it was obviously unused it had lost its label. I imagine any decent kitchen shop would have something similar.
I really would recommend having a look at all types before you take the plunge. Happy hunting.Oh dear, here we go again.0
