Mine is a huge old one that came from the Chinese supermarket. My hands are not good and it does wobble about a bit.(never washed it either). How do you get on with non-stick Butterfly - thinking you still need to add some oil?
I also saw a trivet thing in the C supermarket the other day to balance the wok on - really should have bought one.

    Hi MrsE,

I'm another fan of woks bought from the chinese supermarket and well seasoned. It's well worth the trouble of seasoning a wok for the end results and they seem to last for ever.

As your thread has now dropped off the front page of Old Style I'll add it to the main thread on wok recommendations as your question may be useful to others.

  • Hiya

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas where i could buy a decent wok please. It needs to be non-stick and not too expensive. The wok i have at the moment is rubbish and everything i cook tends to stick to it.

    Thanks
  • I swear by my stainless steel one ,bought for a fiver from Asda
But if you truly want a coated one I would get the Tefal Thermo spot wok. I have the frying pans and they are very good.

I got a good non stick one in Home Bargain last week for £2.99. Used it twice so far and and it's been great!

I got one from Ikea, it's non stick and really good value.

  • Definitely the Tefal one. I got one of these from Mr T's a while ago and used it for everything, including making jam.
  • Thanks for all your replies. Think i will go for the tefal one,off now to buy one:D
  • Jaime Oliver has a good range of non-stick pans, there was a wok in the range too.
