Strange request, sorry if I've posted this in the wrong place. Trying to be organised for christmas.
One of my friends has a large family (5 in total) and she loves cooking. She's been trying for ages to get a large wok (larger than the common 14 inch ones) so that she can easily cook for the whole family.
I'm on a mission to find a wok larger than 14 inch for a tenner or under (the bigger the wok the better). Can anyone suggest where I might get one? My plan is to fill it with goodies as kind of a hamper for christmas.

CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

If you know someone with a card, try Makro - they do loads of commercial-size cookware & regularly have stuff on special offer. Try to go for a decent quality one - cheaper, thin-metal ones don't cook as well & will not last either.0

Don't know anyone with makro card I'm afraid. Have tried all the big supermarket but most stock either a 12 or 13 inch wok which isn't large enough for 5.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Try a chinese supermarket, you can get massive woks in there. I've seen some up to about 2ft!0

I don't know where abouts you are but if you go down to the 'CARBON STEEL DOUBLE HANDLED WOKS' and click on the size you want you can search for stockists. Doesn't give an idea of the price though unfortunately.

Hi
I did a similar thing for my neice last Christmas, bought a wok and filled it with chinese goodies. It was well received. I think I got mine from Robert Dyas.
I have seen a 14 inch wok in Woolworths but cannot recall the price.
Cheers

IKEA used to sell big woks in their marketplace for aroung £3.50. Not sure of the diameter but was really big.

I thought of the IKEA wok as DD has one but I checked the catalogue and its 35cm (14 inch) so not what the OP was wanting.
A bargain though at £3.99 - DD's is virtually indistinguishable from mine which I bought at John Lewis for a lot more!0 -
You can get them from your local chinese supermarket. I have an 18 inch steel one which cost me £6 and I use it nearly everyday!I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....0

Hi everyone,
I think my faithful Tefal wok has finally bitten the dust and I need to get a new one! The bottom of it has all flaked off and constant scrubbing of the whole thing hasn't done it too much good.
I use it almost every day so would need a non stick one, need it to be really, well, fab!
Can anyone recommend one? Would spend around £20, it needs to be good value for money tho
Thanks0
